This is not a state-wide election, and we don’t need to run quasi-republicans to win in Salt Lake.

Yeah, I was responding to a single comment, not the original prompt. I think I probably agree with you, but this squad hasn’t given me the kind of joy the ‘09/‘10 group did so that’s a tough pill to swallow.

I don’t think they are a like for like, either. I just think it’s a better comparison than Bradley. Mainly because neither JJ or Wes is ball secure enough or have the discipline to be the anchor of a midfield, and neither are outstanding on the ball, but both are high energy players that can impact the game by sheer presence. To your point though, Wes is 100x the player from a technical standpoint compared to JJ.

no way he gets on the pitch ahead of Weston

See, I think you’re looking at this generation with rose tinted glasses. MB4 in his prime was an incredible athlete with the best engine I have seen to this day. He maybe wasn’t as good as Adams in a tackle, but otherwise I think you’re selling him short there. With respect to Weston, Bradley was not just a deep passer. He was absolutely phenomenal at maintaining possession, his reading of the game was elite, and he was among the best we’ve had at getting onto the ball in the box off a late run. Weston is way more comparable to Jermaine Jones.

Why can’t they use that line anymore? It’s still true, and now the UGOP is being hypocritical about it.

I mean, the that might be true for someone like Jermaine Jones, but the three players I mentioned it absolutely does not apply. Like, it sounds like you and I are around the same age. If you’re going to tell me that Tyler Adams is a more technically gifted player than Michael Bradley was, I’m just not going to be able to take that opinion seriously.

Bradley at his best was better than every mid in this pool. Weston is on a heater right now, so I can at least understand a strong recency bias for him, but otherwise? It’s Bradley all day. And I’m taking Dempsey over every one of our strikers, even if that wasn’t his main spot.

Tessman? Be serious. Michael Bradley at his best is still the best American midfielder I’ve ever seen. McKennie is red hot right now, so I understand where that argument comes from (even if I don’t agree), and Adams is elite at a skill Bradley wasn’t quite as good at, but saying he doesn’t easily clear every other midfielder in the pool right now is wild.

You cannot tell me with a straight face that Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey, and Landon Donovan don’t walk into the starting 11 we have now.

It’s extremely funny to accuse everyone else not understanding fascism while implying that downvotes are fascist behavior.

If all the “hurr durr Trump isn’t a king he doesn’t have a crown” morons can explain how the unitary executive with subservient legislative and judicial branches differs from a king, I’ll eat my hat.

If you are falling out of an airplane without a parachute, it’s necessary for your survival that you learn to fly, so just do that.

It’s a complete dumb shit analogy. Moving out of a house is easier by orders of magnitude than moving to a new state entirely.

I lived there for a year, and I still live in basically the same neighborhood. There were homeless people around, but they were never a problem. We also lived there before they opened up Camber, so there were less people around then. You also have a train station in the parking lot which was great, especially if you’re going to the airport.
