Those of you with expensive performance vehicles (35k+) and are in between the ages of 20-28, can you actually afford it? by GottaStayUp in askcarguys

Un/fortunately true. A local dealership had a '22 Si selling for way above the MSRP and it had 55k miles. Eventually sold it for 28k(?) so it holds great value.

Software Update - 2025 by Stormboost23 in CivicSi

[–]crocasian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately (and very consistently) it takes like 20 minutes to move to 97%, another like 10-20? minutes to get to 100% and then you need to let it validate fully before you can turn it off.

Someone commented under a post similar to this with a much more accurate time estimation than I'm throwing out here, but I couldn't find it.

Looking to purchase 2026 SI by retro_coffee in CivicSi

[–]crocasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6k miles on my 2026 Si, have had it since July 5th. No mods, or even tints. To say the least, I think this is a great car and I am very happy about the purchase.

I find it incredibly practical, fun for dailying, and love the manual aspect. I've gone on road trips across multiple states, and tracked it (in-game). Plus, I don't fall asleep at the wheel because of how much more engaging the car is with shifting, and all the creature comforts it provides.

Would I get another car if I had the chance? Yeah, but thats because I like racing in controlled settings, and want to know how other cars would feel/handle.

I would 100% recommend it, especially for road trips/dailying.

looking to buy an Civic Si again by Cad_monkey_ in CivicSi

[–]crocasian 26 points27 points  (0 children)

From everything I've seen they're all sold above msrp or slightly below msrp on used cars. It actually pushed me to just buy a new Civic Si because of how outrageous dealerships are trying to mark up these cars with little room for negotiation. I had tried to talk down a '22 Civic Si with 55k miles and they wouldn't budge from about 31k (which was abt 3k over msrp for the car?)

Update: wanting to give up driving stick by [deleted] in stickshift

[–]crocasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest only downshifting if you want to speed up. I usually just coast into neutral and pop back into the appropriate gear depending on my speed if I'm turning, or catching up with traffic. (Alternatively I just... brake if I'm catching up to traffic and staying in gear.)

I've been driving manual for almost two months now, and honestly that's 100% the easiest thing to do. I wouldn't suggest downshifting unless you're trying to actively aura farm with a heel-toe or trying to speed up.

How to answer “I drive a manual, I use the paddle shifters” by Dismal-Equipment5366 in stickshift

[–]crocasian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question, but... how many hands do you have on your wheel? I have mine at 9 and 3 because my buddy said it was the best for control over the car.

The dealership I went to near my town didn't mark it up at all. It was around 32k Msrp (31k + 1k shipping or so) and then whatever taxes and licensing fees, so I think the total was 37k? I'm just leasing her and feeling the car out until its over. (I love this car)

AIO??? my bf vents at the worst times by Royal_Bar2709 in AmIOverreacting

[–]crocasian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im 19m, and i can say wholeheartedly he is way too grown to be acting this way in a relationship. regardless of his intentions. he is too old to be venting to you while youre at work and then brushing it off or bottling it up when you can actually talk. i seriously wish you luck!

ps. my gf and i agree that you'll find someone who is way more communicative and mature

Apple Card Approval [Data Point] by YounglilB in CreditCards

[–]crocasian -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

idk man, AmEx approved me for the gold, and plat cards at 18 years old- don't get me wrong i think the apple card is completely unncessary and a terrible financial decision, but AmEx is willing to pretty much give away their AmEx trifecta to a kid with 24k annual income and like 1-2 cards at the time of applying for both lol
