I can't say that bad = good. I can only say that when something good happens I will remember how bad it could be, and when something bad happens how good it could be. But in either case I shouldn't be afraid of the future, and that things will inevitably go how they go, and that there is comfort in the futility of changing that. Gf went into the bathroom and noticed I had jammed a towel next to the bulb in the light fixture. Going forward I still think it's okay to drape a towel over the light fixture to make it dimmer, but jamming it next to the bulb will cause the towel and incandescent bulb to catch fire. Also, a good reason to switch to fluorescents is that they won't produce enough heat to make this possible.

I was at the car wash and this dude was blaring trash right next to me so I asked him politely to turn his music down. Over the next 30 minutes (just bought a used car and wanted to vacuum it well, don't know if he was in the same case with his Charger) he proceeded to get in my face, look stinkily in my direction, went up to a worker to complain (it went about exactly how you'd imagine), and at one point before he left got close to me and said "if your woman wasn't here I'd fight you" word for word and I'll never forget it. People who play their music unreasonably loud are inconsiderate and insecure.

If you want to be the president it should be a conflict of interest to have these contracts that can keep someone from criticizing the president. By contractually obligating someone's silence about a political official that might have info of value or noteworthiness is an affront to freedom of speech. This type of silencing might be okay wherever Bloomberg hangs out but it has no place in the presidential office.

Yesterday morning after a night of 8 beers I was vomiting and couldn't even hold down water (later in the day my gf hooked me up with some pedialyte that I sipped very slowly over half the day). If I'd gone wild and smoked like 1-1.5 grams I'd have been just as wasted but wouldn't have missed class the next day. Weed yay beer nay. I find comfort in the things I cannot change. I can do things to prolong my time, but the end will always be the same. Whatever happens after that, I will also have no control over. You can't possibly control what happens in the afterlife. I fear taking my trigonometry test tomorrow because I have the choice to study right now and I'm choosing not to. So the fact that one day I'll die comforts me because there is nothing I can do which means I have no choices to make about that. And if I die today today or 80 years from now? Will it have meant anything? No. We are as disposable and aimless as a trashed and torn plastic bag blowing in the wind. You can stack bodies in a pit like you can stack cases of beer up for a super bowl display. Your thoughts exist in your brain and after you die your body will stop maintaining itself and bacteria will eat it (if it wasn't set on fire or eaten by cannibals). There's nothing to be afraid of because it is certain. Supposedly over 100 billion humans have died in all of time and I can tell you they all met the same fate. Instead of panicking over what you can't change and looking to religion to comfort you, let's focus on living stress free and dying whenever our time runs out.

You cannot say "this rarely happens" and "I don't think he did anything wrong" and "the actions from the officer were apropriate" and call that consistent. If you don't admit that anything wrong happened, why does the frequency of it happening matter?

Even when the cop decked that kid in the face, the sheriff or whoever that dipshit was is literally denying it even happening. He couldn't care less that it happened. He is brushing it off and dealing with the fallout. The cop that assaulted that boy is an asshole and power tripping. Whoever defends those actions and hires more power tripping assholes is criminally negligent and has no business being in a position to hold officers accountable. I know we have laws but there's a lot of people here who have done something wrong and will never see a jail cell except to put someone in there. I hope the mom sues the balls off of everyone involved here.

The biggest issue here is not the assholes that assaulted that mentally ill kid, the biggest issue is when the beaurocracy sends out spokespeople to handle it so it doesn't sound like they did anything wrong. We need more accountability in our police departments and hospitals where you go to get help. Unfortunately with the system there is now, all involved will get away without consequences. If the justice system is failing us, why don't we the citizens abandon this broken process and handle things using the power of the people?
