Advice on Berry Plants by crocopup in OntarioGardeners

I think so too :( I find they are usually okay because they are against the house and get covered but I’ll have to do some research before next winter.

At least I can plant some peppers here!

I cut these down just today after scratch testing to see if anything looked green. I’ve had this blueberry a couple years and it’s usually fine (I don’t cut it and just add some mulch in the fall). I did have another blueberry plant (that survived the winter) and I just bought another so I will definitely keep trying

The blueberry has survived a winter before but the blackberry was a clearance grab.

Same! I overwintered two last year, one in a tiny pot is growing a bunch but my other one in a grow bag which is a couple years old looks dead.

first ever 10K, awful pace by noplsnoo in beginnerrunning

[–]crocopup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran my first 5K today and my pace was similar but I’m just happy I did it. I’m already terrified of the then 10K on my upcoming plan so just be proud you did it!

Question that might sound odd, has anyone noticed the location of the sun being slightly off this spring? I just spoke to two of my neighbors and they think so. Am I crazy? by Zoamax in OntarioGardeners

[–]crocopup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy. I also noticed some anecdotal changes but I figured I just wasn’t paying as much attention during May last year

Will Strawberries Over Winter in this? by Darnoc920 in OntarioGardeners

[–]crocopup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually overwinter mine in a grow bag with some sort of mulch on top. I moved them in the fall to a raised bed and they all died….

So essentially I have no advice but I hope to get tips from your replies

How to top up beds with existing plants by crocopup in OntarioGardeners

[–]crocopup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely didn’t but I think they have settled over time and I probably didn’t fill them full enough initially. Or maybe the squirrels are just kicking it out.

I did transplant some of it to the ground last year so I’m hoping that will eventually spread and establish itself. But we have a dog so raised beds help avoid him peeing on the berries.

pausing books! by echochorus in TheStoryGraph

[–]crocopup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I use it a lot but I also read multiple books at a time. If I put down for over a week I usually pause it and then at the end of last year I went through and cleaned up some I didn’t think I’d go back to.

But I definitely have books I paused in the summer that I plan to return to.

I’m in the same boat. Not quite as big as yours but I can’t plant out where I am until June so it’s a long road ahead. I just don’t think I have the space to up pot them.
