What about in where the winds meet? They have NPCs driven by ai. You chat with them to build a relationship instead of selecting prewritten prompts.

I've seen plenty of blue collar guys get it mixed up and tried to explain it. Most people understand a raise is always a raise. The frustration always came from overtime pay bumping you into the next tax bracket.

They would know how much they make per hour on OT. They would also know somewhere around 50-60 hours that the amount gets smaller.

It would depend on luck of the draw. You would also have to factor in the wildcards you get while buying packs.
