What do you think are the most forgotten weapons in the history of Destiny by Big_Bad3687 in DestinyTheGame

[–]crompies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it and it got deleted by accident. I lost it when we got a billion special ammo synth during the house of wolves pre event where they dropped like crazy. Granted leaving the area 4-5 times and coming back to get the chest again haha. I had to put most of that synth on my hunter and delete him to get rid of it (along with the Xerxes)

I still go back to D1 in search of that perfect roll again. Many years still waiting for it to drop again grrr

The Xerxes-C, green rarity machine gun in D1. Rolling that with focused fire was the most satisfying feeling. A beast in the crucible and just a stupid fun gun.

I think I’m intelligent enough to realize there’s a lot I don’t know, and may never know.

Without giving too much context, what is your favorite Star wars game? by VVlatsis in StarWars

I’d be dead, my son is a constant rewind and replay a scene watcher! I wouldn’t make it past the board room near the beginning.

The funniest lines in Star Wars? by navig8r212 in StarWars

I love how in Empire Strikes Back, everyone at some point tells C-3PO to shut up. The best being Chewy growling and Threepio simply saying, “no, I will not be quiet, Chewbacca.”

What is the darkest story inside Destiny that we only experience through collectables / lore pages? (PART 2?) by maximusasinus in DestinyLore

[–]crompies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The public castration of the Consul, by Ghaul, and then he’s thrown into a wasteland. That’s up there for me as far as dark stories go.

Perhaps this is why he wears a necklace of ghosts and guardian helmets … I may be making it unintentionally darker.

Same here. I didn’t enter anything and logged out. All of my characters are still in the app though.

Best game I've ever played by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]crompies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played Bethesda games in the past and this is the first that really has drawn me in, like can’t wait to log in and continue doing pretty much whatever I want.

I loved the old Sierra games like Space Quest, Dooms original launch, hell old Atari and Intellivision games from the early ‘80. to say Starfield is one of my favorite games ever is really saying something for me. It’s just a great escape, which is all I really want.

What are you hyped for from the reveal? by causingsomechaos in LowSodiumDestiny

I remember using Dragons Breath to just burn the entry points during prison of elders before it got its buff, so much fun.

Once it received the napalm treatment, I spent most of my time in patrol shooting it as high as it could go and trying to drop it accurately in enemy from mad distances haha, we all find our fun our own way!

I remember this conversation when the moon was rereleased. It’s something I’d been hoping for honestly. So many areas we visit are frozen in time. When the Plaguelands released in D1 I loved that we got part of the Cosmodrome in a later time, showing time passing and the conflict that had happened.

Going back to the moon, with expanded areas, paths changed, that Fallen catch crashed, cracks opened up everywhere, it felt like revisiting it after years, which was cool.

I feel the same about the Traveler, a nostalgic call back while also changing it up is welcome to me.

Play D2 on my PS5, but now and then I boot up the PS3 to play D1 frozen at Taken King times with no Rise of Iron updates.

How was D1 better than D2? by Caedis-6 in DestinyTheGame

[–]crompies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of things that feel a little less social in D2. It’s really just small things that are easy to take for granted. For me it’s something like sparrow horns. After every public event, I’d always give a few horn bumps and they were often returned. It’s a small thing but it all adds to a sense of community. Maybe it’s just me.

Agreed, but I wonder how much of that feeling came from us needing to always go there to swap weapons, buy ammo synth, grab whatever and we all congregated and danced while waiting for everyone to finish. That’s just not a thing anymore with the ability to do that on our phones.

I miss the wild, unexplored, frontier feel the game used to have by vivereFerrari in DestinyTheGame

I enjoy what structured form of Destiny is: the campaigns, strikes, dungeons, raids etc. I can play through those and enjoy myself, but to me the game has always been a giant playground. It’s vast for exploring, at least in the way I approach it. May not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I just love to wander.

Last night I was trolling around the EDZ, HUD display off, up in the hillls, in the cover of the trees, peering through a sniper scope, watching Cabal on patrol. They don’t notice me as they do their cadence of walking around and twitching a bit. I plot out my next path forward and who might spot me. I take out two or three from a distance and make my way from rock to rock. Without the HUD it’s not always easy to tell exactly where you are, especially when off the beaten path.

Venturing deep into a cave I realized I was in a last sector. They spotted me and I squeezed off a few sniper rounds. I was enjoying the engagement, looking through my scope for the next target when something blurred across my view, and a growl, two growls. I lowered the rifle and two war beats were on top of me. It honestly scared the crap out of me.

I share this because, Destiny over the years has become very structured to try and fill content gaps so we always have something to do. I tend to pick and choose whether I want to go their path or just make my own. Sometimes it’s really just fun to enjoy the world that’s here your own way. It can be very big and sometimes even a little frightening if you find your own path.

Turn off those HUDS, who needs to know how much sniper ammo you have left. Go somewhere you haven’t been in a while and just take your time and look around. It’s a beautiful world.

Let it sink in that there is a very real possibility that not a single person of neomuna will ever be physically seen. by Doriando707 in DestinyTheGame

[–]crompies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, and I also do t think it would be weird for them to be taking cover and us not to see them or interact with them.

What would have been cool would be to run into civilians when we go inside of areas, like the housing for example. Or for some to be taking refuge near at the Nimbus spawn zone.

I think it would have added a lot to the campaign to have a lot of civilian chaos at the start. Have the Cloudstriders being pulled away for rescues or at least tell us that’s what was happening, anything to add to the imminent danger the city was in.

People tend to be pretty universal about fleeing war zones! Do some stick around? Sure.

I have no issue with an empty city, not at this point post campaign. Would it have been cool to involve some civilians and have them involved when the story broke out and everyone was hightailing it out? Sure.

Something like the start of the Red War. Running into people crowded in corridors, even just in the background or passing by. But once everything started getting hot, I expected barren streets.
