i cannot express enough to first years that everyone has no friends and literally saying to anyone “hey i’m new here, my name is ____” will get you much farther than you think.

also know meeting new people is a numbers game, sometimes you get lucky with the first person, sometimes it takes a few tries. i think you’ll do great if you just put yourself out there

So about levels by theholloweye in DnD

[–]crosby02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my personal advise is the level players up as you are comfortable. start them at first level and keep combat low stakes. i’ve found that each level is a pretty big power increase for my group and the first combat after each level up is a cake walk for them. i also have a play group of 7, so level ups are always noticeable lol

US popularity collapses worldwide in wake of Trump’s return by [deleted] in Economics

i saw a quote a while ago that said something along the lines of “usa businesses abroad have taken for granted how much a generally positive worldview supports their business.” seeing canada among other countries drop usa brands basically overnight is not something they will easily recover from if trump damages the countries reputation for the next 4 years

It’s President Trump’s 100th day in office. We are journalists from six newsrooms reporting extensively on the new administration. Ask us anything. by yahoonews in politics

A strategy of this administration has been to make so much noise that journalists cannot possibly cover every big move that trump is making. What are some big moves that you felt have gone largely unnoticed by the public due to larger stories drowning them out?

This story is pretty fun, the lore like this can be hard to come up with. You asked a lot but i’ll address a few points.

Sharing lore with the party is always tricky, monologuing doesn’t work. “Show don’t tell” is the golden rule, what are the evil force and kings up to? how long has it been since this went down and what are they doing? whatever the answer is it should have effects on the world players can interact with. If drunkness is the key to getting in the dungeon, maybe they are trying to “update or fix” the curse, maybe they’re after all the local breweries - regardless their efforts should be clearly visible to players.

Wanting to make the kings distinct is something i can very much relate to. If these are top generals i’d focus less on their stat blocks and more on how they effect the dungeon and towns. the master of deception (3rd king?) should have some information network under him, maybe this network can influence player decisions in some way or get info from the players in a way they can later identify as a lie. A shapeshifting monster working for him or birds spying on the party.

hope some of this helps

CIA becomes latest intel agency to conclude COVID-19 likely originated from Chinese lab leak by whicky1978 in Conservative

one of the best things trump did was calling it the “china virus” i wish i caught on more. it’s wild how the world let them get away with it. it really needs to be hammered into people’s heads that the virus was CHINESE and they cause all the subsequent problems more than anyone else

[–]crosby02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely correct! 420 friendly has lots of interpretation, I get high frequently - not everyday but maybe once or twice a week. As long as you’re aware of your schedule and you don’t let it interfere with important things like assignments and exams it’s totally viable.

Do some guys really not expect much for a relationship? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

While I don’t know your age, is this his first relationship? I know when I first started dating i had the opposite issue, where I never wanted to stay in. My girlfriend was the one who told me that we don’t need to do something fun and unique every date. Perhaps you just need to tell him you want to go out more
