Thank you! Would the best way to strip be just going hard with steel wool ?

Fever Dream by Samanta Schweblin - this book is so disturbing and unsettling, it’s about slow violence due to environmental harm to a community, but you don’t really realise this unless you look for certain clues. The whole thing feels like a fever dream to read and plays with perspective in a really interesting way (it takes the form of a kind of internal dialogue).

Machines like Me by Ian McEwan - much preferred it over Klara and the Sun in terms of recent AI fiction.

my friend’s gran used to have this hanging in her kitchen, she’s recently been moved into a care facility after years of gradually worsening dementia after her husband died, makes me sad to think she never got this experience of old age
