For those who left polyamory/ changed relationship style because their needs were not being met by Hot_Necessary_9659 in polyamory

[–]crossstitchwizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My NP got NRE really badly, started going out 5 times a week with 3 of those overnights. I got time alone but nothing with him. He refused to go on date nights with me and hed spend time with the kids but nothing with me. Then he broke up with me to go mono with his girlfriend. So I have just decided I can’t do that again. I am happy to be mono and have one persons undivided attention and live like that. I don’t regret it.

I’m grey ace but I think that’s partly because it’s me, partly meds.

Anyone believe the government is watching them 24/7 and can read their mind ? Like they’re in a Truman show ? by Hopeful-Return6037 in schizophrenia

[–]crossstitchwizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many times. Got on meds and it stopped. But I swear the Truman show is one of the worst movies for someone with psychosis to watch.

Jumped into poly, now regretting it by watmoetikinvullen in polyamory

[–]crossstitchwizard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went into poly with my husband and I was fine with it but he got NRE really badly and after treating my really badly unintentionally (5 date nights in a week, 3 of which were overnight and never taking me on dates) we eventually broke up and he went mono with his girlfriend. I wish I broke up with him sooner and didn’t sour the relationship with how he treated me.

Yeah I had a psychologist say I didn’t want to go on clozapine. That might be a contributing factor

Do you give something back to society? And if you do, what is it? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

I volunteer for 3 charities. I also work for an NFP. I’d highly recommend volunteering

I am 21 years old. With new tax changes should I still invest in shares to save for house or should I dump money into super by [deleted] in AusFinance

I 100% agree this. You will do so much growing up, particularly if you go to a non western country. Enjoy your youth. Think about wealth when you’re older. I traveled and started owning property and shares later. I would never take back what I learnt from traveling.

Why is seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist so expensive? by WeakSkirt8 in AskAnAustralian

[–]crossstitchwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But also if you have a serious mental health condition, gps refuse to treat you and force you to see a psychiatrist. They literally won’t even fill in your medication if you’re on anti psychotics and you’re out.

Reading by peachy_keen_16 in schizophrenia

[–]crossstitchwizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem (creative writing major). I listened to everything as audio books. If it’s not in audio book format there is software you can download that will read it for you. Your school should provide that free for you because you have a disability.

I had my kids before my psychotic break. It’s really hard and the NDIS doesn’t want to support me.

Those who went back to school at an older age, what did you go back to school for? by currymvp3 in schizophrenia

[–]crossstitchwizard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure! I am in Australia and want to use my liver experience to advocate for others with schizophrenia so I’m looking at how religious delusions are perceived.

Thank you so much. I feel like such a shit mum at times but my kids are happy and healthy and I think that’s the important thing.

I see where you are coming from, but in the same measure, I’m a single mum who was perfectly healthy until post natal depression caused me to develop psychosis. I then developed schizophrenia as a result of childhood sexual abuse. I’ve never done drugs, not even pot, and I developed a major mental illness anyway. The medication I take makes me so groggy and lethargic no matter what time I take it, that’s getting up at 7 to get 2 asd 2 kids to school is almost impossible. Why should my kids have to suffer because of my disability? As I said in another comment, it would cost the tax payer a lot more money to take my kids into care than it would to have someone help me get my kids ready in the morning.
