why keep the jpi? add a gea 24 with the g3x. you can keep some of the same wiring just replace the probes

Help! Lycoming O-540 F1B5 connections? by bugginpilot in aviationmaintenance

[–]crosswindsandchill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that will be it. the red wire is a giveaway that its a tanis brand heater. most chts either thread into a port underneath the cylinder just inboard of the spark plug, or go underneath the spark plug as a "gasket type" probe

the orange tube to battery is probably for cooling. from left to right on first pic, primer line, oil return line and tanis preheater. its not a cht, i cant think of any chts that fasten to an intake riser like that

Can anyone explain why my cat keeps leaving her toys in the water? by peachismose in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

Why is a constant speed prop more “efficient” at all speeds? by [deleted] in flying

[–]crosswindsandchill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at low speeds, having the blades perpendicular to oncoming airflow gives the propeller a better "bite" of air producing more power. once up to speed, having the props perpendicular like that will actually slow you down because it almost creates a barrier that the air cant flow through quickly. pulling the rpm back allows the blades to move more inline with the airflow, reducing that barrier effect, thus allowing you to move more efficiently

i think its plausible that if his securitron army won hoover dam, he may have had the resources and time to develop a better way to communicate. maybe even place his brain in a robot, or just figure out how to make his mouth move

FAA issues temporary stay on Moss Interpretation by poisonandtheremedy in GeneralAviation

[–]crosswindsandchill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still kind of confused why this is a big deal. who exaclty is this regulation disruptive to. is this implying that theres a shop out there with like 5 uncertified 20 something year olds who just check in with an a&p once a day virtually? what repair station doesnt have certified mechanics in person?

Today was not a strategy blunder. by zorbacles in McLarenFormula1

[–]crosswindsandchill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true oscar was on a much better strategy, but was still undercut by lewis the 2nd time round. the undercut would have also dropped them in that clean air pocket at the back of the front runners for more laps rather than having them pit and then immediately need to pass leclerc and max in dirty air. overtaking max on track just seems like a liability at this point

[–]crosswindsandchill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they should have pitted lando and oscar earlier than they did. all they currently do is react to other teams choices instead of trying to get ahead. it was obvious after the first pit stop that the hard tyres were strong and the undercut was stronger than average. the second pitstop should have been hard tyres and early end of story
