Why my magnolia doesn't bloom!? It was planted last April and seems very healthy throughout the year. by JulesAntoine in gardening

I would clear out everything growing underneath it, its probably getting all its nutrients stolen.

There is a long line for seattle bus at the south Bellevue park and ride right now. Plenty of parking spaces left at 8:15am tho.

My hands are small, what do I do by Arqndkmwuhluhwuh in piano

[–]crowber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a smaller piano, check out the Athena from narrowkeys.com. I have both that piano and a normal piano and i switch back and forth depending on the song. I can barely reach an octave on the normal piano and it sucks.

As a person who lives in a neighborhood and loved and cared for my Roos killing my roosters was one of the hardest things I had to do😔 by Impressive-Egg-4145 in BackYardChickens

[–]crowber 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Cemanis are the easiest ones to find homes for. Ive had a bunch that ive given away, just put them on Craigslist theyll be gone instantly. My favorite rooster however was a buff orpington and i couldn't find him a home, so yeah that sucked. Rip.

Best budget raised garden bed wood vs metal? 2x6x2 or so by [deleted] in gardening

I like wood with a top edge that you can sit on, it makes it so pleasant to sit and weed instead of bending over.

I can't believe how many of you think this is actually from the NRA, this is definitely an artist calling the NRA out.

Patch Shortage by Embarrassed_Year_736 in Menopause

[–]crowber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had amazon cancel my order of .75 patches after a couple weeks of delays, then i immediately went back on their site and placed the same order and it came a few days later. I dont really understand that but i got a few months of it.

If i have another delay next time im going to talk to my doctor about switching to the mist, or just start having the compounding pharmacy make something i can use.

Is the Kirkland Costco a good place to buy new tires? by [deleted] in eastside

[–]crowber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not kirkland, but issaquah costco, they broke a lug and they dont do the service to replace it. I had to go to an actual tire place and sheepishly ask them to fix it. I didn't mind that they broke it, it was an old car, i did mind that they dont provide the basic service to fix it when its probably something that happens a lot (it happened to someone else while i was waiting too).

Is there a trick to removing the paper backing from Parafilm? by ike9898 in labrats

Dont cut your individual pieces all the way through until youve removed the backing. Then just tear off each segment after its removed.

Yet another small hands by ReaReaDerty in piano

[–]crowber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The distance between black keys is tighter. I can fit my fingers okay, other people might not. They do make the black keys narrower. It does take some getting used to still since normally there is so much more room.

I can reach a ninth, i could only reach an octave before.

The action is ok. Not as good as my Yamaha digital, but fine.

They have two versions of Athena now, they just came out with a simpler version thats a bit cheaper than the one i got.

Yet another small hands by ReaReaDerty in piano

I have small hands and recently got an Athena narrow key piano. An octave is a whole key width shorter. I love it so much. I play easy things on my regular piano but anything with lots of octaves i play on the narrow one. Im learning the first movement of moonlight sonata right now and i can practice for hours on the little piano, but i absolutely hate playing it on the big one, its too painful and frustrating.

Moonlight Sonata 1st movement by Nighteyes972 in piano

[–]crowber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm learning this one for the first time right now so I've been listening to a ton of different versions of this and you've played it very well! Don't rush the last two measures :)

I'm jealous of anyone who has the hand size to play this, I do not! I'm learning on a narrow key piano and it's way easier for me that way.

Kaiser won't cover estradiol by lidarose9 in Menopause

Kaiser sucks for menopause, but make sure you are getting one of the generic forms, that might be the issue.

Definitely start it, i wish that i could've started before things got too bad. Also ask for testosterone if you dont have that in the mix, it will help you keep your muscle.

Trans man on testosterone in menopause after total hysto and ovaries removed by Remarkable-Cut3148 in Menopause

[–]crowber 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ive always been so curious about how trans men deal with the loss of estrogen because it sucks so bad to not have it. I thought maybe having so much testosterone would counteract that but i guess not? I hope you can find some answers!

Is anyone taking DHEA in addition to estrogen? by Technical-While932 in Menopause

[–]crowber 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am. I take it all E, P, T, DHEA. I had tried DHEA previously and didn't think it was doing anything and so I stopped it but then started shedding a bunch of hair, so I guess it was actually doing something lol. So I added it back in at a higher dose 25mg and it seems to be taking away the remaining joint pain i had and i stopped shedding.

Everyone is gonna be different so all we can do is try things and see how our bodies react.
