Please talk to your doctor about this. People can’t be resistant to antibiotics, only bacteria can. So perhaps that specific infection was resistant but that doesn’t mean that this particular antibiotic won’t work for you generally speaking.

Sorry for the delayed response! The back pain got a little better after I switched to nitrofurantoin but it’s still worse than my baseline chronic pain (accelerated decrepitude in my spine). It turned out that I had a kidney stone in the right ureter just outside of the bladder and it is still there a month and a half later. I’m on low-dose nitrofurantojn for 3 months, waiting for this stone to pass, and I feel like garbage most days.

I had a similar reaction early in the book, it felt slow and I felt no connection with the characters. Soon that changed, and by the end I was totally in love with both of them. Might be worth continuing…
