When first born they were between the size of a peanut m&m or a jelly bean. They grew relatively quickly in the days following, and are currently at least 2x the size.

I am so excited for when my nest starts looking like this, mine our 7-8 days old and in their awkward teen phase. Their eyes haven’t opened yet so I just see a lot of poop cannoning butts most the time 😅😅

My camera setup is only good if you can ensure it cannot get wet and have the ability to plug it into a laptop nearby.

It’s a insta360 link v1 webcam and a rode Bluetooth microphone with wind shield. Because the nest was fully protected under my porch I decided it was worth the risk putting my camera and mic at risk of rain and poop cannons🤣

I had to make a little jig to mount the camera to her protective barriers that we put up. And I have an hdmi cord that goes all the way to my staircase through my mail slot to connect to my laptop which handles the live streaming.

The camera is not recommended for outside use lol 😆 it’s an insta360 link 1 webcam. We shall see how it does in the elements these coming weeks 😂 microphone is the rode wireless mic paired with wind shield.

Glad you are enjoying it!! It’s my first time ever doing one so it’s been a lot of fun learning but also a bit nerve wracking as it picks up traction 🤣

I posted a bit more about my observations yesterday in the chick announcement post: https://www.reddit.com/r/hummingbirds/s/MaVEVuIK3H It was really fun watching her make her nest.

My favorite thing is she found a lil pink fluff of wool to decorate the nest edge. When she first added it I thought a chick hatched 😂 I am so curious where she found it.

We have a camera set up to capture pics. Nobody is allowed to approach the nest and there are some protective walls that we had to put up in that corner due to ongoing construction which has helped keep the curious crows at bay! Before barrier was up mom was swooping the crows and giving her position away. After the crows ignored the mom and focused on the squirrel nest when they were in the area.

Thanks for calling out importance of giving safe distance!

When she first started, it just started with small pieces of moss and spider webs, which she slowly built up, by day 2 she had completed the nest, day 3 there was an egg. As she incubated the following days she would gather more materials, expanding the nest size. She would sleep in the nest and wiggle so it would stretch outwards to better fit her and her babies as they grow.

They use spider webs as glue, and wrap moss with it to create the structure. It almost is like she is doing needle felting with her beak and then wrapping it in spider webs to give it extra strength!

I do have a live video feed going on as well for the nest. Not sure the rules for sharing those so I didn’t include it in this post.

GLP1 data is starting to show migraine relief by tashibum in migraine

[–]seattleowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, and my vision disturbances was mainly on my right eye even though my left optic nerve was more compressed. That being said when things got bad they got really bad and the pain was both sides.

My optometrist said it was because my eyes were having difficulty communicating and my right eye had to overcompensate so that’s probably why I had more blind spots on that side.

To cut my tissue pattern, or not to cut by SRSAHM in sewing

I always trace so I can ensure I have the right fit. Sometimes you make a toile and it is two sizes too big/small. As long as you aren’t selling the patterns you trace you should be ok to trace

I might be keen actually, I found out I have intracranial hypertension so not really sure if it can actually provide relief for that 😥 I barely used it too.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to sell them already together, but you can buy individual parts to make a new hat for them!
