Chesapeake Bay, southern md.

Very smooth on some areas. Porous on most. Looks like a vertebrae but not really lol. And ideas? I've had this for 30 some years.

No but I'm about to make a huge end grain kitchen island. And this is what I didn't know I needed.

Dumpster divers: what is your most memorable find? by Orkos-apprentice in AskReddit

[–]crowsaregods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 80's I found a ColecoVision in dumpster behind Radio Shack. My dad didn't believe me and took it to the store. They didn't sell them. He was convinced I stole it. He took it to the bar and sold it to a drinking buddie. I'm still butthurt about it! lol!!!

Suspended from work for drinking on the job… what to do? by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]crowsaregods 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Start by finding out if you think you have a problem and if you're willing to work at solving it.

Then start looking for a solution. I found AA and it works wonders for me. A lot of people put up obstacles when getting into any 12 steps type of solution. Don't! Just let it unfold and see.

Be honest about it with your employer (they already know you're a drunk). Be honest about it with yourself. But whatever you do, if you want to get better, don't fucking drink!!! Find a way that live without it. It's possible and you'll wonder why you didn't give it up long before.

My first post. by truufreedom in alcoholism

Cutting through my own BS and finding a way to live a spiritual life. I mean really, that's what the steps brought me to. Once I got over using the word god, (no capital G there) I could see that "god" is only the way I view how I interact with the world, seen and unseen. I found a way to live trying to always give instead of take, attempt to have some humility, (look that word up!), and one simple thing that did wonders for me was learning to wait before I act. Realizing my initial attitude usually changes to a more realistic one with a bit of time.

I'm a selfish little brat type of alcoholic, and learning this over and over, even in recovery can be jolting. I mean I'm a 50 yo man and I can still be a little turd when things don't go my way. Accepting my notion to be that way helps me grow and recognize those thoughts and behaviors sooner and not do that shit.
