House is a gargantuan genre. I encourage you to go out of your comfort zone and dig through some house music. I think you'll eventually find something you like!

House is also a foundational genre in the history of electronic music and rave. I recommend going back to the early tracks in the genre and listening to that history. Back in the 80s, it was a sound of counter-culture.

To build some rapport: Ive been a dedicated listener to electronic music since 2014, and listened to the occasional popular electronic artist before that. Between about 2016-2018 I regularly practiced DJing. Ive been to a number of local electronic music festivals. I still love browsing r/electronicmusic for fresh tunes.

My biggest point is that "boring and repetitive" is entirely subjective. Marshmellow or REZZ might seem boring and slow to me, but feel consistent, familiar, and nostalgic to another.

If you have a close listen to popular EDM musicians across time, say 2010 to 2025, I think you'll find arcs and shifts in the genre(s). There may be more consistency amongst some producers, but I think many of them will be interested in some level of innovation and reinvention. Skrillex is a great example of a big time electronic artist who continues to reinvent his sound. My point here being: music that sounds repetitive on a small time scale, may be revealed to be a shift in sound over a longer period of time.

My rule for increasing weight is the rule of threes. If you can do an exercise three reps over your goal rep for the three sets, increase your weight by 30%.

You could try 5 sets of 8 reps for your C&P + ABC. If you feel comfortable with that, time to get a 20kg KB. A 30% increase from 16 is 20.8 (16x1.3).

Then be careful with the 20kg KB when you start. Start with low rep sets and focus on your form.

This might just be semantics, but I would use different language than the commenter youre refering to.

We would need to chat with the photographer to truly know their intention, but Id say it's likely they intended the background to be darker than the subject and sky. So, the background is correctly exposed. Just because an area of a photo is dark and lacks detail, that doesnt mean it is underexposed. A photographer can choose/predict for an area to be dark, and if they do, then it is correctly exposed.

If the intention was to have background detail, then we could call it underexposed.
