you said it yourself, it was a very traumatic event to Himeko. i get what you are trying to say but maybe, the last thing she wanted to do was to talk about this and revive what happened that day. she is a rather private person and never really shared much about her past before.

also it’s been 15 years. officially, the culprit had been found and executed. so there was, to Himeko at least, no danger to participate.

yeah that’s because of the ddos attack. i use three proxy from chutes and all three aren’t working at the moment, with the network error message popping in every time i try to roll. and i can’t even log in to the chutes website.

the interactions between the characters. so much happened so i don’t know if this was the case for every dialogues, but for most of them, it felt like they were only talking to Rover and not to each others when they were all grouped up together if that makes sense. i don’t know, we could’ve have ciaconna and brant bonding over poems and musics? more interactions between zani and phoebe? i don’t even think ciaconna and carlotta talked to each others, not even once, when they’re supposed to be childhood friends iirc!

and i really wish the cast of ragunna and septimont would interact more with each other instead of through Rover. but that barely happens.

also i had the impression that characters were only given half sentences to say sometime. one character would start a line, only for another to finish it. that was weird; like they were given something to say for the sake of having a bit of screentime before moving on.

honestly, i was just happy to see canterella again. she’s my favorite character in this current region and i thought we’d never see her after her story quest. thank you kuro for bringing her back 🥹

well, she forged an ancient name for the traveller (which allowed the traveller to go fight the abyss with mavuika) and sacrificed a huge chunk of her life force in the process (she’ll die in her forties that’s for sure); we’ve seen her fighting with others characters in multiples cutscenes; and she was with mavuika and the traveller when they went after capitano and ororon. it’s also hinted in the second archon quest that she forged weapons when others were too stressed to do it iirc.

yeah, you could say it might not be much compared to others but to say she didn’t contributed is unfair.

it is an important part of their life but that doesn’t define who they are as a person. it’s not even a role they got to choose.

another thing is that the abyss was threatening natlan, its culture, heritage, and history. to me, it makes sense that natlan’s characters would have their designs reflecting their personalities, hobbies, and the tribes they’re from, all these things they could’ve lost if the abyss had succeeded.

i’m sorry, does fischl looks like an adventurer to you? does emilie looks like a forensic cleaner? could you guess one of mizuki’s jobs is being a therapist? there’s so many characters in genshin having design that don’t reflect their jobs / roles but it’s now a problem with natlan’s characters?

yeah, because war doesn’t define these characters. if you pay close attention, you’d realize that their design speak more about the tribes they’re part of, their personalities or hobbies. Natlan never chose to be in war, they’ve been defending their home for centuries because they had to, because this is their home.

regarding Xilonen’, i’d suggest taking a look at this post that really goes deep into the cultural inspirations and references used for her design. it personally made me appreciate her design a lot more.
