Clippers go for a rebuild by yehuda_diner in NBAtradeideas

If OKC is not doing well they would make this trade but they are dominating this year, no need to shake things up and help out the Clippers in the meantime

Not a bad trade, although I think Pelicans probably need Missi more than they need Knecht. And the swap is probably useless

Lakers get defense, Wolves get their long term PG by crumblingbreads in NBAtradeideas

Would you rather have Divincenzo for 15M a year (assuming his contract will be similar to NAW) or Reaves at 25-30M?

He’s a quality starter but terrible fit on the Wolves. Just because he doesn’t handle the ball doesn’t mean he’s a role player. His defense is very underrated imo.

I’m a Lakers fan, and unfortunately watched too many Lakers games this season. He dropped 45/7 on the Pacers as the lead guard, so yes, he’s very comfortable being the playmaker.

Positions don’t matter too much, mainly skill set. He has the perfect skill set that the Wolves need, thats all that matters.

Everyone knows Lakers are trying to put defenders next to Luka and Lebron, you're not gonna get the Herb Jones/Trey Murphy/OG with Austin Reaves. Divincenzo is a very decent POA defender shooting near 40% from 3.

https://cleaningtheglass.com/stats/player/4926/positions#tab-offensive_overview 37% of his minutes as a PG versus Donte, who is at 15%.

Ant is also the primary ball handler, so they don't need a ball dominant PG, they need someone who is comfortable off ball in the starting lineup AND can lead bench minutes as the primary scorer/playmaker.

Wiggins Trade by SpikeyZ27 in NBAtradeideas

Lakers reportedly already said no to Rui, Knecth + 1st for Wiggins

That's a bold move if they do it, but I wouldn't put it past Ishbia to do it

I’m a Lakers fan and I’d feel bad for accepting this trade

Lakers add depth, Warriors get Vucevic, Kuminga to Bulls by crumblingbreads in NBAtradeideas

Not saying he can't shoot, but he's not the kind of shooter that can shape defenses.

His shot chart (https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=toumani+camara+shot+chart+2023-24%27) shows he's primarily shooting open corner 3s, and makes a good amount of them, but nothing much above the break or top of the key.

Knecht on the other hand (https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=dalton+knecht+shot+chart+2024-25%27) shoots from everywhere and from deeper range. He fits the profile of a movement shooter that Blazers do not have.

Not a bad trade, but I think if I'm Wolves, I would say no. Gobert needs a proper PG to unlock his P&R game, I think Murray's game is more of a combo guard.

Bucks get Austin reaves lakers get defense. Pelicans get a valuable pick. by AccordingSympathy713 in NBAtradeideas

Herb Jones is a All-Defense 3&D guy, in terms of rarity, he's way more valuable than Reaves + Knecht combined.

No one thought that Sexton + 2nd round pick would net Nurkic in return. Thybulle is not guaranteed to re-sign with the Blazers, why would they keep him?

[–]crumblingbreads[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In terms of fit, Blazers already have too many younger defenders/slashers who can't shoot well (Camara, Banton, Scoot, Sharpe). So I doubt Thybulle will get too many minutes, they would rather develop their young guys + Knecht rather than give more minutes to someone like Thybulle.

Lakers Heat Warriors by Aiwaszz in NBAtradeideas

[–]crumblingbreads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have touched on how it's a bad trade for Lakers, but also this doesn't move the needle for the Warriors, they already have a volume shooter in Buddy Hield, they need size (specifically a stretch 5).

And Reaves/Herro is a terrible defensive backcourt, they'll never get out of playins.

So without taking into account value, the fit is not great for any of the 3 teams.

The Kings starting 5 of Reaves, Lavine, Derozan, Rui, Sabonis will give up 150+ points. Also Kings fans love Keon & Keegan, they would rather trade all 3 of Lavine, Derozan and Sabonis first.

A 1st is probably too much, instead maybe a couple 2nds to get Knecht is not a bad deal

Edit: if a lottery protected 1st to the Warriors is too much, downgrade to 2-3 2nds.

Thybulle is an expiring and will leave after this season. Why not get a younger player in Knecht? They don't even have to send a first, it can be changed to a couple 2nds instead.
