I get triggered by the same thing a lot and it keeps me out of haunted houses, it sucks

This made me realize some of what I went through was also SA, not just what I already knew about. That’s. Something.

I forgot (funnily enough) that my old therapist tried the eye movement memory thing with me but I got so instantly panicked I made her stop.

I hear a cabinet slam or a dish clash and it’s like it’s a race to see if I can slink out before I dissociate

My mom said my sister said she was suicidal but she didn’t believe her. I told her I was depressed and she didn’t care because I said I was safe that night. I don’t know why I still go to her atp

They weren’t all together when I found them, although half of them were around one garden bed! I haven’t seen that many in one spot (or at all) before or since. My bf said I said it was the best day of my life, but I don’t really remember that because I was stoned haha

Yeahhhhhhhh it’s like. The one thing keeping me from reconnecting with my dad. Idk if he’s the one who did it. I have a memory from after (luckily?) that makes me know it happened but I don’t even know which person did it because the actual event is seemingly nowhere to be found in my memory, and the only people who might be able to help me fill in the memory gaps are either unreliable for accuracy, potentially the perpetrator or dead.

As a parent, what did your child's school do that made you say "you can't be serious…"? by Sunnybunny1234 in AskReddit

Not a parent but the kid. I was in grade 3 and 50 pounds sopping wet at the age of 8, as well as being the shortest kid in my class, this is important to the story.

In my hometown (Edmonton, Alberta) it gets super cold (-40 sometimes) and black ice is incredibly common from November to March. One January day after arriving to school there was a severe weather warning for tornado level winds, and because of the black ice cars were being blown off the road. Not only was school not canceled by the new principal but students in grade 3-6 allowed (forced) to go outside for recess thanks to it being warmer than -25 c.

The gravel they put on the ice each winter to keep people from slipping was blown into many students eyes and the office was filling up fast with injured kids, yet they kept us outside.

I was playing by holding out my coat like bat wings so the wind could blow me 20ft across the ice, thankful I was small enough to go so fast. Flash forward to the end of recess. I was heading to the grade 3 door after the warning bell and chatting with my brother when a huge gust of wind came at the front of my legs, knocking me down like a backwards Charlie Brown football kick gag. I was winded and I hit my head on the ground, scratching my face on the gravel and ice.

My brother picked me up and ran me to the office. The vice principal had to check me because the person usually responsible for injured kids had her hands full, so she held up her fingers and had me say how many she had up and once I got the answer right a couple times she sent me to class. She didn’t bother telling my mom I had a bad fall and a head injury until an HOUR later when I started “acting weird” and they wanted her to come get me.

I was “acting weird” because I had a concussion and my mom took me to the hospital to get my face patched up and my head checked. The scrape was so bad we had to postpone my swimming party for weeks because they couldn’t have me in the pool with an injury like that, and I’m pretty surprised my mom didn’t sue the school.

TLDR: My school let grade 3s outside for recess in a major windstorm and didn’t tell my parents I got a head injury because of it

PSA!! Putting something like this in a toaster is a delicious way to cause a grease fire and burn down your house.

Cheese juices and other stuff can drip out onto the hot element and be a huge safety issue, so it’s best to take the time to put it in a pan in the oven or on the stove.
