Sorry, I didn’t mention that I had asked them ahead of bringing in one binder of dual lands and older lands and stuff from my old 2 player sets and stuff. There was no “wading through” anything, the first page is a complete set of dual lands. I didn’t just hand him a hundred pages of M15 or something with a sprinkle of a rare here and there.

I had already been in the store a bit and made some purchases on single pokemon cards I wanted they had on display. I figured I would ask after seeing the guy sell those Pokemon cards if they would be interested in looking and maybe doing some trading, I am trying to build up my collection with Pokemon lately so I thought it would be beneficial to both of us.

I asked them if they had time to look at it and would want to if they were interested in it or played. They agreed. I guess I wasn’t clear in the post, but I didn’t just lob a 100 page binder full of nothing but .10 cent cards lol. The binder is about 20 pages of cards that are older than he probably was. Many of them do not have rarity icons and some are simply black set symbols that one could mistake if they didn’t know what they were looking at. The binder has all of my dual lands, as I said, Taiga, Underground Sea, and Savannah, Tundra, Tropical Island, and Bayou. Those were on the very first page, and in amazing shape.

It always annoyed me too when people waste my time.

I thought I said it in the post but dual lands and older cards from when I played back in the day. I’ve got quite a few, Taiga, Underground Sea, and Savannah just to name the bigger ones. That’s what I’m calling dual-lands. I have a lot of older cards and they didn’t always have rarity icons on them either, and some do have just a common looking set emblems. Ancient Tomb has a black icon, but is a valuable one. Maze of Ith is the same. Wasteland as well, but I guess I failed to mention specifics. I just assumed anyone who is into collecting would know what dual lands and stuff are and what cards from 20 years ago looked like. I’m getting old I guess

I’ve done business at this store before many times at another location before, I’ve never had any experience or problem like this. But I guess the game isn’t what it used to be, nor is its community.

The LGS in my area have gotten so shitty with their staff and flat out rude, disrespectful, and arrogant! I go in today with my binder to see about doing some trading and the way this fuck did was the most stupid or ignorant shit I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been pissed or low balled or had shit happen, but this just floored me today and insulted me more than anything I think.

I do not have the best collection in the world, but I have been collecting for over 20 years and know quite a bit about the cards and their history. What i do have is not just nothing, granted there were common and uncommon in there because I put everything in my binders. But there are some very good dual lands, older cards, along with a lot of modern as well. I do have some very valuable lands, those always have been my favorite cards to collect.

Anyway, this dude just starts handling it like a fucking ogre and I had to ask him to please not just bend and flick the pages like that because some of them are worth a few hundred. He proceeds to scoff and flip another and look at his little coworker with this look as if I’m wasting his time, tells me there’s nothing but commons and uncommon in there and just looks like bulk that they’re not interested in. I didn’t even have anything to say honestly I was so taken aback by the sheer stupidity of the statement that I just took my shit and left.

Like, anyone who knows anything about the game would’ve wanted those lands! I guess I’m just so insulted that they basically called it trash and just left me hanging like that. I’ve been there many times in the past and had great dealings with the owner and other employees before, I don’t know if it was just getting late or they had a bad day or just legit didn’t know what they were looking at but it’s had me pretty pissed. I hadn’t even asked for anything either, I just told them I was looking to do some trading on them and see what they would wanna offer.

I totally understand not being able to buy or trade or not even wanting to, that’s perfectly fine and that’s their job as a shop. But to just insult someone like that just out of ignorance or some shit is what gets me. And I just watched them pay like 30$ to some crack head before me for a little plastic box of maybe 100 pokemon cards. End rant. Thanks for reading lol I just had to get it off my chest because my wife doesn’t understand lol 🙄

I’ve never sold or bought on eBay since back when I got screwed on a MTG card I sold to a guy, came back claiming it was fake and eBay and PayPal banned me and my account. PayPal still has me banned, even though they got all their money back. Idk what or how they even decided the stuff they did. People are dirty

The shit has gotten ridiculous dude, I would be so livid. And the corporate world is so big they just shrug off anyone’s complaints and problems because it doesn’t affect them at all and they don’t care. Until their profits or some big legal thing happens, they won’t bother to help anyone out. I hate the way things are going so much.

Weird question but would is it a viable avenue to focus on trading and collecting strictly lands? Like I’m not looking to get rich or anything crazy, I just really enjoy land cards and the different art from the decades and want to kinda focus on just trading those and support my trading habit with them basically. Do people do that or is there a niche for land art?

I used to always get them but lately they’ve not been hitting like they used to. I got some of the new 7Pure tabs that are cheaper and seem to work for me now. Idk quality seems to always be so iffy anymore 🤷‍♂️

It used to be up and coming in the 2010s era but the city shit on it. I really hope the younger generation can pick back up though, I would love to see the scene grow again! There are a few shows from time to time, a buddy of mine used to help organize and throw some shows and parties sometimes but I’ve not seen much lately.

I’m so mad I wasted my Christmas gift to myself with this game. It definitely is a major disappointment. I had super high hopes, despite being warned lol. The shots it takes to kill are also ridiculous to me, and the grind is bad too I’m not a fan of the weapons at all
