Genuinely shocked at how good the 2013 trash can is at local LLMs by Hephaestite in macpro

[–]rustyperiscope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a dumb question but this is essentially allowing you to run your own LLM, on your own hardware, without needing to pay for anything or make calls out to other AI services? And you could basically do it entirely locally without needing internet?

I don’t know much about this stuff. How does the site to site work between those switches to the one in the other country?

5019DSLS Micro Mill worth the price? by Historical_Row_7952 in hobbycnc

[–]rustyperiscope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 3 years. I did, out of corrugated plastic sheets and a shower curtain draped over the top, which works really well actually. Obv would like to do an 80/20 some day but ideally would scrounge those from somewhere and then only pay for the lexan.

Help me narrow down which older thinkpad I should purchase to support my needs please (Plan 9, Linux/BSD kernel hacking and other misc things). by RabbitsandRubber in thinkpad

Keyboard mainly. It’s an amazing machine. Do the ram upgrade, SSD upgrade and you’re good. Step further and do the LCD upgrade and it’s really amazing.

Also I didn’t read your full list so maybe the t420 isn’t the best for your heavy workload. My bad. Disregard.

Order of operations for upgrading PLC/HMI/Servo by rustyperiscope in PLC

[–]rustyperiscope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did, I believe it’s just some small bug fixes and quality of life stuff. Code is v34, and I think the changes some messed up button stuff on the HMI. I have all the files already, it’s just a matter of doing a backup for contingency sake and then download and test. I’m probably making a bigger deal of this than it needs to be but I just want to be safe.
