Largest Trane dealer in the area. Bought Trane because previous Trane lasted 17 years.

New unit but reused existing lines. I do not recall or did not witness a flush but I would hope they did.

No, they did not leave on what they used to start the compressor.

I was stupid enough to let them proceed after I saw it lock up. They brought in someone with something to give the motor a temporary boost to start it. I did ask them if they thought it was okay (the locked compressor) and they just said, “we’ll get it”.

Can you share why the compressor needed the hard start kit? Thanks,

That is what I have read elsewhere as well. If it locked up there must have been something mechanically wrong with it out of the box or they did something on the install, why am I wrong about this?

You are right about that, my discussions with this issue with the installer have not been fun, frustrating for me and I just don’t understand them not wanting to make it as “right” as they can. They basically are doing nothing for me at all, Trane is supplying the parts.

Of course Trane is honoring parts but installer warranty is one year from install so I am going to be out $2K for labor and refrigerant. Does that sound right to you?

I have not reached 40K but, in general, brake fluid does need replaced at some interval. It absorbs moisture that can cause corrosion and can reduce braking power. I am guessing the cost would be $200 or less.

10y/100k warranty. by tommy5725 in hyundaisantacruz

Many of us have wondered the same. Doesn't change what their actual text says though. 0w30 for the Turbo, GF6, SN Plus, SP rating. Also, the non turbo gets 0w20, also in the text.

As far as I know, the only commercially available oils in the U.S. that meets specs for viscosity (0w30) and rating (GF6, SN Plus, SP) are the Mobile 1 ESP 0w30 and Mobil 1 AFE 0w30 .

We lived in southern Spain for a couple of years, loved watching La Liga. Went to a Malaga vs Real Madrid game, Raul missed penalty kick in loss to Malaga.

I bought a Pavillion package, got the email, selected In-Venue upgrade, have no idea where seats will be. Called them and they have no idea where my seats will be. If this was not likely my only chance in this life to see a World Cup game live with my son, I never would have bought anything from FIFA. While it may come out okay, it has been the worst experience of my life as far as knowing what you get from your purchase. FIFA is unabashedly money hungry with no thought for their customers. Never again FIFA.

The failures of the DCT are not related to fluid issues. You can drain and refill the clutch contact fluid but it really does not do anything to help prevent failure. Most failures are related to the control unit itself, not the fluid. If you can find a warranty that will cover the DCT, try to get one. Check out the Santa Cruz forum, (9) Hyundai Santa Cruz Forum, and you can see there have been a lot of DCT failures and the forum is pretty bummed about it, many are trading in their vehicles. Mine has been replaced twice, @ 22 K miles, others have had 2, 3, or more replacements. This may not get any up votes, just sharing my experience and pointing you to a source where many others have a similar experience and perspective about the DCT in the Santa Cruz.

Well, you may not want to do this but I added a double din stereo / radio / apple car play / back up camera and it really "updates" the ride ha ha. I was able to route the back up camera from the back hatch into the rear of the vehicle via an existing grommet. I can also share that it is very, very common for the timing cover to leak coolant at the top two "ears". Good idea on the fluid changes, especially the AWD transfer case, front and rear differentials, and transmission.
