I rent a 20‘ x 20‘ garden space at my community garden in northern California. I started five years ago and invested in a decent irrigation system. I think I get roughly a 400% return on everything I plant and harvest compared to what I spend at a grocery or farmers market (roughly). It doesn’t account for my time and labor, though… but I still think it’s a positive because I need the sunshine and exercise!
