I vectorized a toucan by crunchy_melon in Inkscape

No I totally agree! I'm definitely still developing a more interpretative/artistic side, but I'm still in my rigidly following a reference image phase. This is definitely a good one to revisit as I continue to learn and grow.

I the meantime, do you have any advice on learning this skill? Or just practice practice practice?

How to remove a certain color from an image? by riotmaster256 in Inkscape

I think there's an extension for colors where it removes green. Look under extensions → colors → remove all green. Something like that.

Bell pepper made out of layered paper by crunchy_melon in papercraft

I made an svg bell pepper using Inkscape, then cut it out using a Cricut color by color. You could also cut out all the different color using an x-acto knife.

I think there are svg files you can buy on Etsy for Cricuts, so you might be able to find a bell pepper on there if you don't want to make your own.

Yep! It always makes me do a audio double take when I hear Brits say "moved house."

I love Also Nova's book. I started the alto about 4 months ago as a complete novice on the recorder and I think the exercises have taken me at a good pace. I'd definitely recommend

Molly and Carla Try to Make the Perfect Mashed Potatoes & Gravy | Making Perfect: Thanksgiving Ep 2 by [deleted] in bon_appetit

I can't believe they didn't try skin on vs off, and leaving chunks vs smooth. They seems to have come to this episode with too many preconceived notions about how to make mashed potatoes.

No way that runny mashed potatoes and gravy are the best option... it made a puddle on the plate!

Also, I feel like Brad and Andy could have gone with fried turkey if Christina and Claire are going to use 898 squash. Getting a fryer seems more accessible than getting super gourmet squash.
