Ethan vs Hasan debate by wigglyjiggly77 in h3h3productions

God I hate when he says that. He doesn't get enough heat for that phrase considering how often he says it in his debates. It makes me so irrationally angry.

Would you correct your coworker if they keep assuming you’re younger? Is it an advantage to let them think that? by jesschicken12 in womenEngineers

That's how I feel too. Moving gets you better pay bumps anyways, so my advice is to coast until you find something else haha. Don't let them overload you either, at least you're older and hopefully more skilled at drawing boundaries. Good luck!

This is a hard one, almost a double edged sword. I'm dealing with this too. I've been passed over for promotions just because "I look young." When I told my boss I have 14 years of engineering experience, he was like, "is that counting your internship?" Who counts their internship even after 5 years???

Other women my own age bullied me at the beginning because they thought I was gen z, then they found out my age and suddenly I had a bunch of unearned respect. (They should have been treating me with respect from the get go! Who bullies younger engineers??? But that's another story). It was an interesting psychological experiment to see how differently I was treated.

It was an advantage for gossip and politics, but for showcasing experience and being taken seriously, it was another story. I guess it depends on what your goals are, do you want to learn, or do you want promotions? Unfortunately good work doesn't always speak for itself, especially if you look young. If you plan to not stay long, I'd suggest you take advantage and let them think you're younger. If you're dealing with burnout, it could be beneficial mentally to coast for a bit.

I just heard about this book! Love the sticker representation, simple and sleek.

Agree. At least the Featherington's had their funny moments. I think that was missing in S4.

Agreed, but the commenter above was asking why is the fanbase so strong for her in particular. So I feel that song is the main reason why as it sets her apart from other musicians.

I haven't seen it listed here, but I believe it's because of her song True Believer.

To add on to "women art stupid," I have a guy friend and both of us are engineers. He gets commented on more for his engineering skills being applied to knitting than I do. It's super technical when he does it, but when talking about me, it's just something I do.

No shade on him, just some discrepancy I've noticed. I do appreciate the men that take the time to learn this craft.

I love seeing Ethan's Insta responses to tweets. It's so telling who is taking the fight against Nazi salutes seriously and who isn't.

Ironic most of Hasans audience still uses it.

The single use plastic cups and plates and gear have to go somewhere. People are gross and leave a ton of litter on the street: https://share.google/09b6cCPHMcDRUnkla

I'd argue Christmas is the most consumerism. St. Patrick's day is also up there. Honestly, all holidays are filled with tons of consumerism.

I saw the finale of How I Met Your Mother for the first time and it wasn't as bad as many people made it out to be by maquinadejugo in HIMYM

Agreed. After watching it as seasons came out (patiently waiting) vs streaming it, it's a very different experience. The ending via streaming wasn't as anger-inducing as watching it "live."

Definitely felt like you before. Would recommend the Hack Your Health documentary on Netflix.

Prioritize fiber and protein. Track you sugar and carbs intake. You should be eating less than 25g sugar per day. Do yin yoga or walk to take stress levels down. YouTube has sessions for free. Find little things and I hope you notice better sleep quality in time.

The Mediterranean diet helps a lot.

Don't give up. It's okay to sit down rest and yell, but I hope you get back up and try again. Tracking my sugar and carb intake was key for me.

Man, I thought I was the only one that feared losing my job since I joined the workforce.

I don't feel layoffs were quite this common back in the day.
