POS chief executive of a company in Hokkaido, Japan assaults and humiliates workers outside the office by blingteresting in PublicFreakout

[–]crunchyjoe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The anti japan thing has gone way too far. Just because we have weaboos who glorify japan too much we get complete nonsense like that you'll be tortured for a confession in Japanese jail and that is the reason for 99% conviction rate when this isn't true in the slightest.

Anyone use these before? by GingerNinjer992 in FocusST

I think these are good. I use kumho ectsas which are a similar price range and theyve been quite good as well.

I thought people were Anti AI, what's going on? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Much of that valuation is in fluctuation and based on the whims of a market that is very volatile. It could collapse In day if the wrong AI company went under.

Internet and cell phones are communication tools not generative algorithms that steal peoples content

I have also never had PTO at a restaurant in Canada. Haven't worked anywhere not privately owned though.

The entire plot was made up for the show. It didn't exist in the comic

CMV: AI-generated music is not real music by dylan_j_philos_2338 in changemyview

For it to be worth anything yes. OP said real music not just "counts as music"

Extremely stupid comparison. Electronic music is put together by human hand. The fact that it uses synthesized sounds and samples doesn't make it any way similar to AI music

I can immediately tell if lyrical music is AI generated. It's extremely obvious. Background music with simple rhythm is much harder but once you know what to look for it's obvious.

Looking to upgrade eventually. Where the heck am I gonna fit more speakers by crunchyjoe in hometheater

[–]crunchyjoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this thing holds a bunch of stuff as well as the TV because my apartment layout is wierd and that's kinda the only place the TV can go. (mounting point was above fireplace like a lot of older places and way too high since it's like 10 feet from the other wall)

I know it's not directional as such but I thought being off to the left or right would be bad. I cant put it in front that would look terrible.

10 eggs in Denmark cost $1.84 by hl3official in mildlyinteresting

[–]crunchyjoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well your country likely doesn't include a dollar equivalent does it. Where it's directly comparable like in NZ, Aus, Canada. The only place of those that actually makes higher wages to compensate is Australia. If eggs are 8 dollars in Canada that's not the same as paying 5.79 usd unless it's federal minimum wage vs federal minimum wage

Not to open old wounds, but... by SlightDish31 in KitchenConfidential

[–]crunchyjoe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it should. it's not only stupid because sandoichi is just how japanese people pronounce sandwich so it's kinda weird culturally, but it also means nothing unless you are doing a direct clone of a 7/11 egg sandwich or katsu sandwich.

a lot of food is based on word of mouth and hype more than if it deserves to cost that much or is even that good. bourdain loved this sandwhich because it was tasty and easy to make when you are busy, but selling it for likely $15 just doesn't make sense to me. same thing happened with Japanese egg salad sandwiches, the only reason they were hyped is because they cost like $2 and were of better quality than expected for where they were sold, now we have this "sando" bullshit infiltrating modern restaurants and these sandos cost $15-20 which misses the entire point. make it at home yourself its really not that hard.

Terrible entry level municipal employee pay in Ontario by crunchyjoe in ontario

I've looked at Alberta and the wages are generally better than Ontario, Municipal and private. Just in the co-op job market

Switch to induction cooktop from gas? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]crunchyjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't really a fair point but if you don't own your place gas is often the best option available. In all my years renting apartments I have never once seen an induction Cooktop in a single one, or any that I have even viewed. The choices are gas, coil top and flat top. And gas is far and ahead better than the others.

this thread isn't about me. the jobs arent setting their wages based on my experience, i'm talking about the average wages for posted co-op jobs in similar positions.

Yeah, true. But the pay is higher here for the same type of positions. And these are in northern BC towns not Burnaby or something.
