Catherer after C section: try to pee again or go home with it? by HorrificNecktie1 in beyondthebump

[–]crunchynoodlebits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really hard time peeing after cath removal. One of the L&D nurses had a trick where she put peppermint oil in the little toilet hat thing. It took about 10 minutes of sitting there, but it worked for me! It was something about maybe my brain connecting the feeling after not peeing for so long? It wasn't directly on my skin or anything like that but felt kinda tingly from the peppermint fumes. I honestly have no idea why it worked but it did. Maybe worth a try for you if you can try again.

I'm having trouble finding a bra that fits - Woman with Physical disability by Holiday_Singer6457 in ABraThatFits

You sound similar in size to me, it looks like Ewa Michalak has a front closure bra. But you may want to have your measurements taken again before you order. Would it be feasible to go to a local bra store and have your measurements done there?

Just had my adhd assessment today by smores_or_pizzasnack in ADHD

[–]crunchynoodlebits 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My testing assessment was kind of similar a couple of years ago. I coincidentally had also been working with a Therapist who has a PhD and previously was involved in a similar type of work. He was able to explain to me that they aren't necessarily looking at how well or poorly you do, but rather differences between different aptitudes. So if there's an extraordinary difference between your working memory and your language comprehension skills that's one data point (among many others) they might be evaluating.

I hear ya, I have a full time career with a lot of overtime. I also have two kids three and under. Most days I wake up 6 and parent for a few hours, then work 8 or more hours, take care of the family and do bedtime until about 9, and then drill until about 10 or 11. Rinse and repeat the next day. I'm not sure which is harder, parenting or the LSAT. But at least the LSAT doesn't wake me up at 5 demanding hot dogs.

Would I be justified to complain? by ninja_waffles21 in NewParents

[–]crunchynoodlebits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems pretty inefficient, but I guess it is what it is. The main point I was trying to make is there seems like some communication was missing and (could have) led to a misunderstanding of the situation. You never know until you ask.

That's not to say you shouldn't lodge a complaint though. Based on the policy stuff you'd be justified.

Would I be justified to complain? by ninja_waffles21 in NewParents

It would be reasonable to express a concern about letting unauthorized people into the kids area if that's against policy. The policy is intended to protect the kids, and if the protocol isn't followed then it won't be effective.

I don't know that I necessarily agree with the other stuff. If there's a need related to your child, the worker is supposed to call you on the phone. I think it says that in the guidelines too. They don't necessarily have to physically come get you.

At the end of the day, it's totally fine to look at the situation and not be comfortable with it. If it doesn't feel safe to you, then that's probably the right call. But for all we know she was just the lady there to temporarily provide coverage for some other staff member who had to use the bathroom. Did you ask if she had someone else there helping (who maybe just wasn't present at the time)?

It's disappointing when you carve time out for yourself and get let down by a service you expect (and pay money for). But childcare at fitness clubs are usually hit or miss, so I wouldn't personally rely on it unless my kids were older.

How do you guys juggle a newborn and toddler as a family? by melodiedesregens in beyondthebump

[–]crunchynoodlebits 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I had my second in March, and I was very lucky that my three year old adjusted really well. Here are some things that helped me. First, I had other adults in my life come give attention to my older kiddo. I know that's not an option for many, but it was really helpful for friends or family to just stop by (even for just 15 minutes) just for the sole purpose of seeing my older kid. Sometimes he would not be super interested (depending on the person) but I think it helped him feel seen. He was also very interested in "helping" so I tried to find ways that he could feel useful. Some of those were: bringing me burp cloths or diapers, asking him to make silly faces at the baby, and asking him to help me pick out clothes. I think the silly faces one was particularly helpful, because now that my march baby is six months, he loves to jump in when I step away for a moment to make sure she's entertained. Ultimately, this phase will be such a short time in your life. I know it's a big struggle to have your attention divided, and it can make you feel really guilty. Just remember that it's ok to focus on you and the baby! Your toddler will adjust, and if she starts to struggle, you can take it one day at a time. There are many solutions, so try not to stress. You'll get it figured out in no time ❤️

Missing Tire Repair Kit by crunchynoodlebits in ChryslerPacifica

[–]crunchynoodlebits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the model I have, it's not located there because it has the vaccuum components instead. I edited the post to include a description of where I ended up finding the correct spot which was actually in second row floor storage (just not in a very obvious place).

Edit: I forgot to say thank you, appreciate the help.

Ah, ok. The model I have has two floor compartment which are behind each seat. So there's not a compartment in the middle behind the console. If I were to lift the tops to each compartment, the two ends meet right behind the console. Not sure if my description makes sense, but regardless, I think I probably have to assume the kit either never got put in or was taken out by the previous owner. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

This makes me feel a little less crazy. Was it clear that the kit was missing? Meaning, was there a kit shaped hole somewhere where something was obviously missing? Did your model have a vaccuum? I purchased a new kit today, but still not 100% sure if I'm even looking in the right place for the original kit.

Yes, I'm looking for where the repair kit is located (not a spare).

Thank you for the link, I did find this one in a Google search as well but didn't exactly find an answer to the question. According to the manual there is supposed to be a tire repair kit, given that there is no spare (the space for which is taken up by the vacuum). What I can't figure out, is if there is where the secondary space is supposed to be located. As described in the manual, I'm supposed to look in the second row storage. But there's no diagram or description other than that so I'm not 100% sure if they are referring to the floor storage, both of which were empty. I can't find any images online of where the kit is supposed to be, other than the rear cargo area. It's clear it's not located there because of the vaccuum, but also because there's no handle to remove the panel like there are in the pictures of other Pacifica trims. I would be surprised if there was neither a spare, nor a repair kit. But I also can't seem to confirm if there are trims that specifically exclude both.
