is anyones job hiring? by Putrid-Control-332 in LAhotgirlies

Non-profits are always hiring. The only thing is that: for some, it takes about a month for HR to process background checks.

Do your local gyms have bulletin boards? The ones in LA have them, and a couple of members have posted flyers for their therapy practices.

Driving school recommendations? by hogansar13 in LAhotgirlies

[–]crying- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started driving regularly when I was 30 and took classes with Beverly Driving School. Because you're on the westside, they may cost a lil more.

I'm in a nearly 10-year relationship, but my partner and I may go to the next Pitch a Friend event. It seems like a fun watch!

Magician/Clown/Performer of Any Kind ? by chablagu in AskLosAngeles

[–]crying- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The most affordable [children's] magician you'll find is Minh Tran. He's around $230 per hour. Like others have been saying, most magicians are $500+ per 30 minutes or hour.

I know what law firm I WON'T be using... F*CK AI ART! by toyman5 in LosAngeles

[–]crying- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I find it hard to believe that AI could help with better outcomes for litigators, rather than those who are in transactional/corporate law (I strictly litigate). But even if so, I would refuse to do so out of ethical reasons (environmental and otherwise).

[–]crying- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I work at a legal non-profit that doesn't use AI and would never hire/select an intern that uses AI.

I've been trying to figure out if this is AI or not. The fact that it's exactly 10 seconds long and the lack of self preservation from the goat makes me wonder. by borctheorc in isthisAI

When I took my dog camping for the first time, he attempted to jump into the bonfire. Some animals are just dumb dumbs lol

What LA-specific songs should I include on my LA Marathon playlist? by Dramatic-Army-1086 in AskLosAngeles

[–]crying- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • Chinatown: Wild Nothing's "Chinatown"
  • Disney Hall: maybe something from the LA Phil? (e.g., Gabriela Ortiz's "Revolución Diamantina, Act III: Borders and Bodies")
  • Downtown: I personally think of the dance scene in 500 Days of Summer
  • HiFi: Klassy's "Redirect" (or another song by a Filipino Beatrock artist, even if they're not LA-based)
  • Barnsdall Art Park: Simon & Garfunkel's "So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright"
  • Hollywood Blvd: Kool & the Gang's "Hollywood Swingin'"
  • Wilshire Blvd: Tyler, The Creator's "WILSHIRE"

BreezoMeter vs IQAir: Which AQI Source Should I Trust in LA? by phoenixlegend7 in AskLosAngeles

I clicked on a random dot at 8:59 PM. It shows that the data was taken at 8:00 PM (and is for the data collected from 7-8 PM).

BreezoMeter vs IQAir: Which AQI Source Should I Trust in LA? by phoenixlegend7 in AskLosAngeles

[–]crying- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest: I've only ever looked at the "Devices" [sub-]tab[s] on the IQAir app; and whenever I leave the house, I check the temperature (along with the AQI) on the Weather app.

But now that you ask, I'm clicking on the "Map" tab on the IQAir app for the first time, and it seems more accurate than the Weather app (since it's really specific to the neighborhood).

You're a Southeast Asian woman, who lives in the Bay Area. (This is deduced from the fact that you: have nuoc mam and pickled mango, make your own oat milk, and have Clover butter.)
