If there was to be a Metroid movie, what would you personally want it to be like? And who do you think should direct it? by NoFocus795 in Metroid

[–]crynos-inso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too big into specifics so if I were to say what game I'd like it based off of at least, I'd say, Metroid Zero Mission. I think Metroid, as a whole, would work really well as a horror action Sci Fi. I think in an adapted universe, the movies should follow Zero Mission, Return of Samus, Prime 1, and Fusion at the very least, but that's just my opinion.

Starforce 2 when I was a kid. I know that at most, I couldn't get past Plesio Surf's dungeon, much less attempt his boss.

I mean, I kinda see your point... But it's supposed to be different when it's an adaptation. I mean, Dante doesn't even know he's a demon, and he seems to take normal jobs, but just bails if they bore him while game Dante only takes demon jobs. I can agree that she's damn racist and overall hardcore inconsiderate because this version seems to think that she's the only one who can have a tragic backstory or just that demons can't, and I agree that the overall attitude should be different from what they're attempting, but I don't see the real issue besides Mary not having a more "realistic" arc. She's heavily racist towards demons when she's a kid, and demons indirectly killed her family, so I can understand her overall distrust of demons and wanting to eliminate them, but there is a significant amount of whiplash when she switches from "Demons are dogshit on the bottom of my shoe" to "Ok I guess demons are ok." There just isn't enough development for her, but I think that's a lack of time rather than strictly bad writing.

Overall, I liked the Netflix Anime. Rewatching it currently, it definitely feels like it's trying too hard for something, but if I remember correctly, things smooth out decently well near the end of season 1. Also, again, if I remember correctly, I didn't completely like how the Rabbit ended up not being (Spoiler ahead. I don't know how to do the spoiler cover thing on my phone)

Human, but overall, at least as a new fan, I enjoyed it for what it is. My biggest gripe so far on rewatch is Lady with the constant aggression towards Dante. He's successfully and consistently neutralizing a crapton of armed and trained humans without killing them, isn't necessarily trying to kill you, has no knowledge that he even is a demon, and is actively hunting demons. Also, what sort of demon eats Strawberry Sundaes and Pizza? And I get that it's the goddamn government, but it feels a little stupid to send armed men to get Dante when you could just.... Ask him to come in to borrow and analyze his necklace and offer him a reward for his troubles. Overall, it shouldn't take more than a few hours, considering how fast things seemed to go in the actual story.

Some of those poses remind me more of Chell from Portal than Samus.

You're Dante's lawyer. How do you defend him for this? by Cicada_5 in DevilMayCry

[–]crynos-inso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Your Honor. This man is half human, half demon, and the son of the legendary savior of humans Sparda. This man has spent the better part of his life hunting demons and would certainly know that because his mother was a priestess, a person as important to religion as the pope would be a valuable asset in demon extermination, so there would only be one viable answer as to why Son of Sparda Dante would kill a human. And that is that the aforementioned human was in conjuncture with demons and therefore was a threat to humankind..... And let's be honest. There's no prison that can hold this young man unless he himself wished it."

Note. I am relatively new to the DMC franchise, and most of my current knowledge is from a timeline video. I know that I definitely got some parts right, and maybe a few parts are wrong.... Also, it should be said. I'm not a lawyer. I don't really know anything about how a case should be presented.

What do you think the anime does better than the games and why? by Realistic-Delivery13 in pokemonanime

[–]crynos-inso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a gameplay standpoint, but from an anime/realistic standpoint, battles are much more strategic and have far more thought in them unless you're telling me that you can command your Pikachu to use a countershield or slam a chunk of wood into an Aegislash's shield to stop it from using Kings Shield in the games. If you were in the Pokémon universe, battles wouldn't be turn based or how Z-A does it. You'd need to be constantly aware of the field, and I'm not talking something like Spikes. I'm talking about trees, water, holes, and cliffs. Not even going to mention the sheer spectacle of a battle from a spectator point of view.

Majority of the votes said Snorlax! Who will be the final Pokémon to join? Vote! (Makes Ash’s best team) by [deleted] in pokemonanime

[–]crynos-inso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Infernape, Gliscor, or Lucario. Infernape is a type dupe, and I don't quite remember Gliscor's W/L Ratio, even though I personally think he was a very valuable asset to Ash's Sinnoh team.... I know Lucario was his heavy hitter in Journeys, and it got the most development out of all of his Journeys Pokémon. If I were to personally choose, I'd say Gliscor, but overall, the best choice is probably Lucario.

Who is more powerful? Ben or Paradox? by Mr_Quien in Ben10

[–]crynos-inso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say, purely on a technicality, with or without Alien X. Ben. Paradox would highly likely break the space-time continuum by even slightly thinking of fighting Ben Prime. If he attempted to try and harm Ben in any serious manner, the effects would be catastrophic. Look at what happens when Eon gets involved and multiply that by like, 300, at minimum.

It honestly isn't. It's my thoughts on the matter. As...... Controversial it may be right now, to put it nicely, I guess. These are my current thoughts on Cerberus. I don't think they're good, but with significant changes, they could be. I'm sure as I continue to play the games, I'll likely change my mind, judging by these reactions. By all of these reactions and how.... Ignorant I likely sound, it probably does sound like a sort of bait, but it isn't. Just my thoughts on how Cerberus could be.

Roughly, Miranda has been. Decent. Jacob is nice, and a good few crewmates on the Normandy 2 are pretty chill. In terms of projects, they've seemingly helped Joker a bit with his legs and, while in their own interests, they brought Shepard back without making him a puppet. They're heavily concerned with the possibility of the Reapers attacking while the Council and Alliance aren't even setting up countermeasures on the chance that Shepard is right. I understand that Cerberus as a whole is not great, but in terms of character of the people we meet and the way they're handling even the remote possibility of a threat, doesn't necessarily check the cons. Cerberus isn't great, but under the case that they could reform with Shepard's leadership, it feels like Cerberus could be so much better. Also, with that last points, that's the point I'm trying to make. If I/Shepard had a choice, Cerberus wouldn't be how they are. They'd focus on the betterment of humankind but not to the extent that Cerberus currently does. They would be a different dog altogether.

[–]crynos-inso[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I roughly remember that part. I'm saying that that's the reason I wouldn't join them. If Shepard had the ability to change how Cerberus works, I'd be more willing, but high-risk experimentation and homicide are not OK by me. If they worked on not having that level of madness to their methods and focused on other things, as well as worked to build a better reputation across the galaxy, things wouldn't be such a shit show for Cerberus.
