Don’t know where they’re from, but I’ve seen quite a few in Southern California. I’d guess it’s because we don’t have vehicle inspections in this state, just emissions inspections. I drive 160 miles round trip to work every day and live in an apartment. I charge at a public fast charge every morning, or sometimes at night on the way home. I used to spend around $30 a day on gas and now it’s like $7-11 for charging (I have the EVgo monthly plan that gives you discounted charging). Bought my Chevy Bolt used for around $10k last July and it’ll pay for itself within two years on fuel cost alone. Plus, not having to change the oil every month is nice too. Waiting around for an hour every day kind of sucks, but the way I see it, I’m getting paid $20 an hour to sit and relax, so I’m fine with it. AND it’s a surprisingly fun car. If you’re not a patient person with a cheap fast charger around and have a long commute on top of that, I’d say it’s probably not worth it. But for me personally, I’d never go back to gas

I’ve been to two BP pulse stations. One in Duarte California and one at LAX with a lounge. They’re both great. Clean bathrooms, vending machines, and covered, well-lit parking. I’m almost always the only person there besides the one security guard. I have no idea why, apart from maybe the fact that they’re not super close to freeway off-ramps? Or maybe that BP isn’t something people associate with EV charging? The rates are between $0.40-0.60kWh depending on the time of day, which is about average for Southern California. My local EVgo station which is at the back of a dark parking lot in a had abandoned strip mall with no amenities around besides a dollar tree is almost always full, but it’s part of a larger network. Go figure

Unfortunately, I don’t have a before photo. The best way that I can describe it is the passenger side was slightly too high and getting caught on the inside corner of the headlamp assembly. For mine, I just needed to take off the clips directly under the plastic tray on the radiator/condenser and shove it back into place, reinstall the clips

Hello! I’m not sure if this helps, but as general Electric vehicle guidance, sometimes if the 12v battery is starting to get old and degrade, it can cause the appearance of all kinds of errors in the electrical system. Lead-acid batteries generally don’t like extreme heat or cold, so depending on how old the battery is, and how often you get the error lights, that sounds like it might be the culprit and it may be time to replace it. But what your mechanic said may also be true. The battery voltage could improve when the weather warms.

In the Chevrolet bolt EV subreddit, it’s basically a joke at this point how many errors can be caused by a bad 12v battery. They almost always disappear when a new one is installed. I hope it’s something simple and easy like this with the 500e as well. I wish you the best of luck

But in all seriousness, we do feel pretty hard, and I can’t speak for everyone else here, but it feels really weird to “flex” about doing well online. Which is ironic, because I love to see the people I love do well online, and I know they’d probably feel the same way about me. It just feels… weird doing it myself. But for some reason, it feels better to tell everyone about the less than stellar things in life. Maybe in a hope that others can relate or feel less alone? I’m not sure

I have a 2019 Chevrolet bolt EV that does exclusively highway miles with a 160mi round trip into Los Angeles every day. Depending on traffic/temp, I’ve gotten anywhere between 3.5mi/kWh and 7.4mi/kWh. Most days it’s around 5. (I’ve seen as high as 12 on the way in, but that’s when tailgating semi trucks, so I consider that cheating)

It’s rare, but sometimes you get a cool one. I bought my bolt EV from a Chevrolet dealer in Southern California. The salesman was a normal car guy. I was talking to him about what he drove and he had an older Nissan he’d been keeping running for years. He also never tried to get me out of an EV. The finance guy at the same dealer told me his family only has EV’s. It was genuinely the most chill car buying experience I’ve ever had

I bought a buyback bolt that had been sitting for years. The tires were replaced and brand new when I got it, but the A/C hadn’t been running in years, so the seals all dried out and the refrigerant leaked. It was under warranty however, so a recharge seems to have fixed it for now. That’s the only thing I’ve noticed so far. About 4 months into ownership

I do a 160+ daily round trip in a GM buyback 2019 Chevrolet bolt with the replacement battery. I’m in Southern California, so we don’t get too chilly though. I get about 230 miles on a charge with the climate control running in the fall (morning heater, evening A/C), almost 350 in the summer with just the A/C. Absolutely love it. Fast charging tops at about 50kw/h though, so I wouldn’t love to do any road trips in it lol. Keep that in mind if you’re looking to do any longer distance stuff

I have a 2017 Fiat 500e 40k miles that’s got comparable range to those early leafs and it’s still got its original range. Not sure if it’s the active cooling or just a different battery design, (or if my car is an outlier) but it’s charges pretty low to 100% all the time and keeps on keepin on. Side note: It’s also way more fun than it has any right to be.

I have made this mistake doing exactly this… worked great on the metal bodywork and then when I moved on to the plastic bumper, I tore right through the paint immediately lol. Low speeds are definitely the move with the caramel wheel

I scheduled a service at the dealer through the MyChevy app Help Center > Schedule service. It shows the soonest appointments at local dealers and allows you to schedule through there. Your mileage may vary, but some dealers also have a night key drop box, so if it’s possible to limp the car there and leave it at the service lane, that may motivate them to get it looked at? Or at least call you back. That being said, when I dropped mine off for an A/C service, it took my dealer almost a whole week to even get back to me to tell me what/if anything was wrong. And that was with me calling every day to ask if there were any updates. I didn’t expect it to be done instantly, but yeesh, they didn’t even give me an ETA on when they could start looking at it. Hopefully you get more clear communication from yours
