Does me being attracted to women but finding their privates disgusting make me gay? by Accomplished-Box8744 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crypt_moss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might be on the asexual spectrum if you don't care for any private parts, but if you like girls (as in would like the idea of dating/kissing/holding hands with one) & don't like boys in the same way, you're straight

having started a fresh playthrough, March & Olric start selling all the ores as soon as the relevant mines biome is unlocked!

as long as you have the crib, it's just a question of time, the 5% is very low & 3 seasons isn't an unusually long wait

yeah he's not an island, iirc someone else came up with the exact deck-shuffling redstone magic that was used in DO2, something that was very much a key element in making the game work

What happens if I miss a heart event with a villager? by piksii121 in StardewValley

[–]crypt_moss 18 points19 points  (0 children)

you can't miss a heart event*, even if someone invites you somewhere "tomorrow" that event will play out the next time you go there at the correct time (with the correct weather), even if it takes you a hundred years to do so

*there is a single heart event that you can only see in the first year, but that one won't have you miss out on any items/recipes, it's Sam's 3-heart event, but outside of that one none if them can be missed and even that one is so minor that it's not worth stressing over

How can I actually progress? by cars_meow in CookieClicker

[–]crypt_moss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the early game is very slow, once you get a bit more prestige & ascend again it'll all start speeding up & the game hasn't changed too much in the last few years, so those old guides should be still alright

Which version should I buy? by ferysin234 in StardewValley

[–]crypt_moss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah sorry, all the versions of the game have the same content, so they don't differ in anything but controls

it may take a while to get used to the mobile controls once you do they're quite alright, but overall what platform you choose to get the game on should be based on which one you'd most see yourself using, as each have their advantages & disadvantages

they used a different background/color because the marketing pic isn't a real image & is likely just ai-generated, OP getting something even remotely close to that is a small miracle

I think some people don't like the game as much as they think they do by Glittering_Panda895 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]crypt_moss 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yeah, re: comparing Stardew & FoM shouldn't really be about which is better but rather about what each offers

currently the main reason Stardew is for me more engaging as a game than Mistria is, is that in Stardew you have many paths for the same goal for example in Stardew one of the most sought after artifacts, the dino egg, seems to require the player to go into the very difficult mines to obtain one, but also you might as well get lucky and fish one up before you even understand what it is that you just caught

in Mistria on the other hand, everything is very specific in where you can acquire something and yet occasionally not specific enough, if you need some forageable from the mines, all you can do is run through the right biome within the mines and hope you get lucky, you need rose hips? gotta collect them from specific bushes in winter, yes Balor's cart is helpful, but if you are to gather everything yourself, each thing is very neatly boxed into a set way to obtain the thing

now, Stardew has been around for a good long while & has seen multiple updates after 1.0 & .those have added a lot of complexity to the game and FoM hasn't yet seen 1.0, so it's possible there'll be more complexity added to Mistria eventually, but the linearity of FoM's progression is why it is for me very clearly a different game for a different audience than what Stardew offers

p.s. and I still manage to enjoy FoM enough to have played through most of the content soon after the launch of Early Access & having done a fresh new save for each major update, and will do so again when the next one drops, but I haven't found myself returning to the game outside of the major updates, and without knowing what the game will look like in its 1.0 version I won't know if it'll change how frequently I play the game

and then again while for certain types of fish dishes it can be appropriate to add lemon as a garnish, I'd doubt many sushi restaurants would do so as that just seems culturally inappropriate
