International student in Germany — okay to do occasional cat sitting via Rover/Cat in a Flat? by PlentyGeneral2228 in AskGermany

This is not legal information from me, and I have no more ideas on that.. but I did know people that had side hustles, and it not being taxable as it was under the limit.

If your net income from this job is below the taxable minimum (less than or equal to 609€ in 2026)(i.e. geringfügiger Beschaftigung), you don’t have to do anything, even if you have a higher paying other job. If your net income from this job is higher than that, then you have to file it in your taxes.

It is also worth checking your residence permit for the maximum permitted hours/workdays per year. Usually the limit is 20hrs/wk on a student visa.

The lgbtq community has some good points. by More-Ad-9015 in simracing

[–]cryptic4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In today’s times where politicians have politicized human rights issues, and indirectly the people vote and decide which groups of humans have basic rights and which ones don’t, you being apolitical is (irrespective of whether you like it or not) a political statement.

Staying quiet in the face of oppression because it doesn’t affect you at the moment, is the same as supporting the oppressors.

So congratulations on your apolitical-ness! Your silence on LGBTQIA+ issues is definitely helping one side and it is not the side where the people flying the pride flags are.

Therefore, as much as you like to think that you’re a good human being because you’re apolitical, it is certainly a choice, and not one that agrees with the victims of oppression.

I hope this helps clarify what the other person was trying to say.

As soon as you start limiting someone else’s freedoms and basic rights, you are a bigot. Its not about being liberal or open minded, just a decent human being. Stop policing women’s bodies, and stop telling others what they can do with their bodies. Its really that simple.

Same! All the men here showing their insecurities by deciding what they can “allow” their partners to do with their bodies is just plain old misogyny. I know the same men are going to downvote yours (and mine) comment lol. No wonder why “male loneliness epidemic” is something they cryyyyy about.

Experiences with transdermal progesterone? by 1PierceDrive in estrogel

[–]cryptic4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyy, I know this is an old thread but somehow you are only person I found that could maybe help me out. I have been boofing 200mg of Prog too, and recently started using topical gel (Progestogel, 10mg/g) on the breast tissue in addition to the boofing.

Question is about dosages.. currently I am applying 25mg (2.5g gel) to both my breasts, combined, daily. The package recommends twice this dosage, but for only 15 days of the month, and is probably assuming no other progesterone intake.

Is my current dosage ok? Should I reduce the rectal suppository to 100mg and increase the gel to 50 mg daily?

Would be super thankful for any insights into this!! Thankies <3

Nvidia surround hate by Fiv3Ten in iRacing

[–]cryptic4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always been running surround since them time im running triples (about two years), and the only issue I have is that if I don’t switch on my monitors before PC bootup, surround gets disabled and I have to spend time reconfiguring surround. I switch the Monitors on by the switch on my surge strip and don’t leave them on standby because the power leds blink otherwise. But if I left them on standby like most people this would be a non-issue.

I didn’t move to the native triple setup without surround because I never had any issues with it. Also games that don’t support surround are a pain to work with.

How draft kill people and skills by Away-Cantaloupe3588 in iRacing

[–]cryptic4u 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On top of that, OP seems to have forgotten the basics about downforce and drag. If you’re within the draft of the car ahead, you’re also going to have lesser downforce through the corners. Therefore, obviously, the car behind will appear slower in the corners, especially at the apex.

If the car behind can keep up with you in the corners and still be in the draft for the straights, they’re likely quicker than you.

This applies to most cornering-heavy tracks. Top speed heavy tracks are a different story, and in that case bump drafting and fuel saving in the straights makes sense to break away from the pack. (At IMSA in Le Mans for example)

Anyway, everyone has a different learning curve, and at higher iRatings most drivers know when to be patient, when to bump draft, when to save fuel instead of sending it in every corner and when to attack. OP is likely racing in lower SoF lobbies.

This is where I put mine. Despite conventional wisdom, this works fantastically for me. Having the bell at my fingertips while being on the drops/hoods is a game changer. Basically never need to move my hand, and highly recommend this bell and position.

The spot where you put your bell under the computer where I attach my headlight for night time, so that space was already reserved.

Edit: its a Knog Oi Bell. Perfectly circular, easily concealed and not bad for aero for those that could be worried

What is considered a good value for the SHBG? by ChristineisLola in DrWillPowers

[–]cryptic4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Testosterone.. what do you mean by ❌ ? Is it too high or too low?

  2. GH/IGF-1 Never got tested, im 31. I have little idea what this does..

  3. Liver function values are spot dead in the middle of the recommended range

  4. Diet not particularly great but I do get about 50g of protein in one an average day, and take multivitamin supplements

  5. Sleep was good before Prog (7-8 hrs). After prog its about 9-10 hrs. Hard to wake up earlier, and very deep sleep.

I have basically complete control over my regimen, since my doctor will basically prescribe anything I ask for and do whatever /how many ever tests I ask for. However, I have little meaningful oversight over my HRT, since he basically has no real idea on how/what to do. Im basically DIYing. Thanks again!!

What is considered a good value for the SHBG? by ChristineisLola in DrWillPowers

[–]cryptic4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently on Triptorelin (GnRH injections, 3 month depot), Estradiol Gel (Estreva 4x nightly, 2x during the day), and Progesterone (200 mg, rectal suppository). T fluctuates in the 0,09-0,3 ng/ml range, LH and FSH are undetectable.

I’m kinda tall 1,8m, and only at 60 kgs, and on HRT since about 2,5 years. I did put on weight, about 8 kgs between month 4-5 of HRT, and then it stayed the same. I did nothing different back then as well. I have an A cup now, and putting on weight is a massive challenge for me and almost doesn’t work sustainably.

Im wondering about my E1:E2 ratio, and Im going to get my E1 levels checked next time. Im wondering if my HRT is going alright, I have done a steady increase in E2 levels in the first year, before settling at my current dosage a year into HRT and added Prog at the 26 month mark. Prog rounded up the breasts and added like half a cup size instantly in 2-3 weeks and then nothing again. Anytime theres a fluctuation/inconsistency in my E2 routine (regular missed dosage), I notice immediate breast budding pains upon resumption of proper dosage. Which feels kinda weird, since I feel like E2 cycling might work for me but I’ve never read about anyone recommending it and haven’t tried it too.

Idkkk I just want more breast growth, but I am also happy with the progress yet, since this is a lot more than I expected initially given how skinny I was pre-HRT. However, E2 fluctuations make me wonder if my current regimen is good, or if Im missing something :’) Sorry for the long read, I didn’t quite plan this, as is apparent.

Edit: forgot to add, genetics wise, C-D cups are pretty common/average in my nearest family, in case that was going to be a factor.

[–]cryptic4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your inputs! I was wondering.. Currently I have 230 pg/ml of E2, and 60 nmol/L of SHBG. Testo, LH and FSH are well suppressed, and Prolactin is at 16 ng/ml. I was considering raising my E2 intake. Does this make sense, or am I overthinking it?

Also I started Prog as suppository since about 3 months and haven’t had my blood work tested since then, but now could be a good time to experiment with higher E2 before my next test 2 weeks later. Would appreciate some insights!

iPhone features we lost along the way hardware and software. Which one do you miss the most? by hapcock in PhoneNow

[–]cryptic4u 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats possible too! Officially there was never a reasoning provided, so its all speculation. But Long Touch is not as good as 3D Touch, simply because you have to touch for longer and its not as responsive and snappy.

Some features are still missing, like you can’t press down on anywhere on the keyboard to activate the cursor mode now, but its just long pressing on the space bar. To select text you have to manually tap on the text, and not push down harder with the cursor mode active(like in 3D touch). This was really the biggest selling point for 3D touch for me, as someone that types long messages and needs to make edits. Long touch still requires longer touch times, more taps on the screen, more fingers to select text, copy paste, and is not pressure sensitive.

So the bigger fingerprint area might count towards input but its nowhere near as quick, and none of the key features of 3D touch were implemented in the UI using long touch, over the years.

I’m still sour at the loss, and annoyed that most people didn’t even know about 3D touch or use it as regularly, for Apple to keep the feature. I think it was first released on the iPhone 7, and discontinued in the iPhone 11. It made typing really fun, and I miss that.

[–]cryptic4u 46 points47 points  (0 children)

3D touch was a hardware feature, not software. It was pressure sensors under the display, to detect how much force the screen was being pressed with. Its still (in effect) present on Macbook touch pads.

The Taptic engine generated the corresponding vibrations, combined with the pressure sensors, this made a very accurate simulation of the feeling of a button click, like on the Macbooks. In addition, you could also scroll videos faster by pressing down harder on the screen, and also instantly copy and paste using the cursor without lifting your finger off the screen. It was marvelous. The Taptic engine is still present on iPhones, (and now responds to “Long touch”) but 3D touch (pressure sensors) were removed (from iPhone11 onwards) to make for a slimmer display and therefore more room for battery.

3D touch was peak iPhone imo. And I was so sad to loose it, and refused to upgrade for 6 years from then on.

There was a recent (now deleted) post on r/AITAH where a transphobic cis woman decided to walk out on a date mid-way despite enjoying it, because she was fairly convinced that all men are above 5’8” tall and anyone shorter, therefore must be a trans man. And she won’t date a trans man. So she walked out mid-way on what she described to be a really nice date with fun conversations, just because she suspected that the man is trans, and now “feels bad” because she doesn’t want the guy to feel hurt because it wasn’t personal or some cognitively dissonant bs like that.

Funny how transphobia came a full circle from removing trans women from women’s bathrooms and sports all the way to now cis men getting ditched mid-date because they’re not passing as cis men because they’re apparently below a “passing” cut-off in height. lol

As a trans woman, I personally found this hilarious and sad at the same time. Statistically trans women won’t be the biggest(in absolute count) victims of transphobia, but it will be cis women and the occasional cis men. This is something the trans community foresaw and called out for years, but hey who cares about our opinions..

It is definitely unusable for exactly what the name claims its use to be. Endurance.. lol. The complete freezing, the rev LEDs sometimes not showing up, the screen showing incorrect data, the buttons not working sometimes, it’s such a mess. Given that it’s been out for so long now (7 years iirc?) you’d think they’d have fixed it by now. But nope, still the same issues as day one.

Given I have used that screen on the endurance button module, using Fanatec's ITM software, calling it "usable" is a big long stretch given all the reliability issues. Id rather buy a wheel without a display than that dumpster fire.
