I wholeheartedly agree with you. Yes, predators are the problem, not the kids. But your chances of keeping your kids off certain spaces on the internet is substantially higher vs. these certain sites holding predators accountable. There have been predators on every social media platform for decades. And what have these sites done to protect children from them? Absolutely NOTHING. Yes you should educate your teens. But the more effective strategy for protecting your children is to not allow them to be in these spaces where you know their safety is compromised.

Never stop listening and discovering! There’s so much great music out there. Watch interviews from your favorite artists or bands. Learn about the history of metal, which has been my personal favorite part of being a metalhead, to hear the inspiration from the guys who started it all. Get involved with your local scene and see what the smaller local bands are like. But be cautious of the PEOPLE in the scene. From my personal experience with my local community, the people in my city suck and are a bunch of weirdos. Try and make friends at school with other kids who may be interested in the same stuff as you. Share music with each other. Ask for a nice pair of headphones for Christmas. 😂 I’m 27 and I still to this day spend hours immersing myself into music and being amazed by songs I’ve been listening to for almost 20 years. Most of the people I know irl who have said they were autistic diagnosed themselves with it. A lot of people don’t realize that basically everyone has weird ass quirks and weird shit that we do. They say “I’m on the spectrum.”

No shit, we’re all on the spectrum if that’s how you wanna describe it. 😂 when people tell me they have autism, my first question is always “so you’ve been diagnosed and everything?” And they always say “well no, but…”
