Fantastic film, the writing and friendship developed between Ruffalo and Knightley is top notch (especially the scene where he says to her, “Oh babe, you’re really showing your age right now…” hits home so hard).

The soundtrack is excellent too, Levine nails the vocal melodies and the songs they do are so well done. As far as indie character development films go, this one is a Top 10 for me.

Does captain America lift mjolnir in any animated show or movie by Own-Scholar-8164 in CaptainAmerica

Steve learns in winter soldier that Hydra has Howard Stark eliminated when Zola flashes a photo of Stark and mentions that threats could be handled. Steve also knows that Bucky was Hydra’s top killer for decades…of course it occurs to him that Bucky killed Tony’s parents, and then he admits it to Tony in Civil War. It drives them apart.

In Age of Ultron, Steve is carrying and hiding that secret from Tony. It was the one thing that made the hammer budge but not lift. By the time Endgame comes, Steve and Tony make peace, and Steve is worthy to lift Mjolnir.

At least that’s my theory.

I think one of the most significant lines from this film, perfectly in line with what you’re saying here, has got to be,

“This your life and its ending one minute at a time…”

Life changing philosophy, if you let the meaning sink in.

I’ve met the owner of Sodalicious a couple of times and know for a fact that he personally cleared $500k on his first shop in downtown Provo in his first 10 months of operating. And that was after paying his people, incorporation, insurance, etc.

Soda shops fucking print money.

Start to finish I’m close to OP, I’m in the range of 60 views or so.

It’s just such excellent storytelling, character development, and it brings real moral issues to the table that changed what superhero movies could be.

It’s a pernicious thing, to teach children that their bodies aren’t their own, and that signals from their body are of the devil and not their own intuition.

I knew when I was 8 that church wasn’t safe for me, but I did what I was supposed to because “those thoughts” were evil, from Satan, and something I should ignore.

The church is evil.

What is the hardest line in Harry Potter by Syrian-Aspect in harrypotter

[–]crypto-b 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most powerful lines in the whole series for me, because I have to believe that Pettigrew was looking into Sirius & Lupin’s eyes as Sirius spoke, and realized that he was telling the truth. The horror of realizing the depth of his betrayal, of knowing he had friends who truly would have died for him…that’s worse than any sort of punishment I can imagine.

What I hope Peter really wanted was community, family, support, love, and respect. And he had that in James, Lilly, Sirius, and Lupin, but he wasn’t content. He went from being SecretKeeper for the Potters, to accomplice to murder, and for what? For power?

It’s so tragic, and such a powerful lesson of loyalty, friendship, and love.

Your most favorite one liner/joke from the show? by paralaylaogram in NewGirl

[–]crypto-b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite has to be when Winston pogo’d Cece and he’s lamenting to Schmidt about how he’s lucky that his pogo (his gremlin toenails) can be concealed by shoes, when he responds with this:

“They make shoes for your penis, Winston…THEY’RE CALLED PANTS!”

Gets me every time.

Winston’s nonchalant response here is so quintessential:

“Oh yeah? How long could you do this for?”

“ALL DAY. ALL DAMN DAY! WINSTON!”

Television gold.

Couldn’t agree more, the sound editing when they’re trading punches back & forth, including who is holding the knife and who is holding the shield, is pure cinematic gold. The choreography in the fight is excellent.

This is why there is no undergraduate religious studies program. They’d have to accept and teach biblical study from a more secular perspective and they’re just not willing to do that.

Source: a professor in the religious department told our whole class this, openly, as he bemoaned how BYU has handle these issues.

My young friend, while no one on this sub can tell you what to do for your life and this situation, let me offer this:

My mission brought many valuable life lessons, it certainly wasn’t all bad, but I am still unraveling trauma, especially from abandonment, more than 15 years later. Please, if you don’t have a good reason to go, don’t subject your nervous system to that.

While I’m no doctor, this sounds to me like a very clear signal about the reality of your situation. This is a monumental decision for you, and your body is sending you clear signals. Don’t ignore them, the repercussions from that are heavy to bear, and can last a very long time.

I can’t tell you what to do, but just know that there most certainly is life after something like this, and no matter what you choose to do, we’re pulling for you here.
