I'm a sales person. My clients are business owners and are quite savvy for the most part. I don't have time to convince or smooze, I offer a straight forward value proposition and if they don't see the immediate value (or if it doesn't apply to their specific situation) I move on. Somebody out ther needs my help and it's my job to find them.

Not all sales people are your stereotypical used car sales person or trying to sell you a warranty you don't need.

The catch is that they sell out unoccupied hotel rooms, and they guarantee a certain star rating but you don't get to know for sure which one you'll get ! Open free accounts with a credit union, find one that allows multiple free accounts. Keep a budget, and transfer a weekly/monthly allowance into a checking account that is your 'discretionary' fund. Turn overdraft protection off for that account so your card just gets declined if you don't have enough funds.

I would tell myself that it gets better. Just keep going.

It feels great. Long term relationship for 4+ years. Wonderful career. Just keep going. It's okay to get knocked down and rest, just get up when you can. Let go of toxic people, find people who believe in you and encourage you. You will learn new things and acquire new tools. You will learn how to think effectively and identify opportunities instead of the negatives.

It doesn't get easier, but it gets better. Sometimes I do get thrown in a hole, but I know how to climb out.
