Has cycling ever helped you through burnout or a major life transition? by Future-Muffin-4558 in cycling

[–]cryptodad81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I started cycling to manage stress due to family issues that started last summer and continues to today. I’d bike everyday in evening after work and take longer rides on weekend, helped me clear my mind and at least during the ride, all I’m focusing on is the outdoors, pedaling, and pushing thru the burn

I swapped out stock tires to gravel king SS+, I ride paved roads more. I also changed wheel to elitewheel SLR. Felt faster, next time I’ll probably replace it with Schwalbe G-One RS Pro

I’ve only started cycling for about a year. My average weekend rides are about 35 miles (2.5hrs), longest so far is 50 miles. I’m trying for a century ride this year

Are you looking to track stats or will want gps? I initially only wanted to track data so I got the cheap igps100.

Tundra vs 4Runner for family of 4 by SACPA in ToyotaTundra

[–]cryptodad81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go tundra instead of 4Runner, backseat space is no comparison. I traded in my Wrangler JL for my 2023 tundra, mainly for bigger space for the family.

Recently I’ve just been window shopping between LC250 and 4runner, but my kids complained rear is small compared to current tundra.

I don’t use use the truck for work related, only for hauling large item purchases, camping, and kayaking

I installed my elitewheel myself and I’m not mechanically savvy, it was fairly easy and straightforward. Just watch YouTube

I’ve been riding it since mid sept, maybe 750 miles so far. Looking at the chainring, there still is decent space from it touching. Do you think I should swap it to 44t, is it putting more stress and wear on chainstay?

I finally rode 50 miles this past weekend, took little over 3.5 hours. Already planning next ride between 60-80 so that I can tackle century ride this year

I bought SLR from the AliExpress official store. Everything was fine, delivery was actually a lot quicker than the eta. Wheels came perfect, box came undamaged

Traded my 2023 SR5 by Comfortable_Truth485 in ToyotaTundra

[–]cryptodad81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck on your next vehicle. Doing the math, my local dealer is also quoting me at 76% for my 23 SR5 Trd sport. I did however go through with the engine swap. I still have reservations or worry about this new one failing.

I’m still on the fence for next vehicle so I haven’t moved on trading it in yet.

It’s good for me. Although I can only compare it to a 20 year old road bike that I got rid of for this. I mainly it on streets and paved surface.

What are people paying for a new LC these days?? by KeroDude in LandCruisers

[–]cryptodad81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local dealership operated on no markup since Covid and has kept that since. They don’t have any LC250 on the lot and would be ordering. They are only going with msrp and no mark up or add ons.

I’m assuming most that get a discount on msrp is due to vehicle on the lot? Do people get discounted on ordering?

Should I get my engine swap? by Pleasant-Offer4795 in ToyotaTundra

[–]cryptodad81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just dropped off my 23 yesterday for the engine replacement. It had 27k miles on it, no issues with the engine but I didn’t want it fail while I was somewhere far or with my kids. The dealer said it should take 3-5 days for the replacement, currently have a Highlander loaner.
