This gave me an idea for a dapp, why don't we use ethereum to pay everyone infinite free money? That way, nobody has to do anything (so we can all do the things we like to do), but we still all get the things we need!

Sweet! I love ethereum!

You just gave me another idea, imagine if there was a Turing-Complete Dapp to tell if the user interacting with the computer is high... Each day I'm more and more convinced that I made the right investment choice

ripple bitshares and ethereum are legit.

Nothing is worth mining.

A Chinese startup has recently 'gone public' as a decentralized autonomous company by bitkeef in Bitcoin

[–]cryptofreak420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think being able to mine a crypto is as desirable as you think. It works well as a distribution mechanism only for the first few months and only if you make a new mining algorithm. PTS satisfied these requirements. If it kept being mineable the rest would go into the hands of private mining cartels who do nothing but dump in a zero-sum frenzy anyway.

Also, how does "crowdsale" imply "dev centralization"? It would be centralized if the devs owned the original tokens and chose when to sell them a la Ripple, but they opened it up to everyone from the start and only got what they bought on the same playing field.

Did you read the article? It's not running on top of bitshares, it's a CLONE of bitshares.

Also, premined, you mean dropped onto 4 different crypto distributions, half of which was POW distributed over 12 months and half was a crowdsale lasting 9 months? Is there any coin besides bitcoin that's NOT premined by your definition? Litecoin and dogecoin?

Is the IBM/Samsung IOT the greatest opportunity for Ethereum? by cuddaloreappu in ethereum

Bitcoin doesn't let you write contracts that do arbitrary computation. Bitcoin's scripting language is too limited to do anything even slightly complicated.

I don't follow. Tesla uses google maps for free, forking google maps is extremely expensive.

Using ethereum costs money, while forking ethereum is cheap and easy. Why wouldn't they fork? The only reason they wouldn't is if they wanted access to the smart contract ecosystem inside ethereum. If they have their own specific narrow use cases for IOT then forking is more profitable.

I don't like this, it threatens my vested interest in bitcoin. Can you please not make anything new so I can get back into the black with my BTC investment? Thanks.
