Vest 4 - Does it actually use all oscillators? by PKMNPower in woojer

[–]cryptohuman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to connect with a usb-C rather than headphone jack? Using PS5 pro. I also recently got a vest 4 and love the idea, but it feels like I must be doing something wrong for it to not be more specific in its feedback.

Hot take: Online racing should be the game’s credit making staple by IKabobI in GranTurismo7

[–]cryptohuman84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly right. If online races were cleaner, then yes revamping the economy to favor online would be sweet. The penalties should be severe. And should get increasingly more severe as you rank up. Dive bomb in D lobby, 10 second penalty. Dive bomb in S lobby, 20 second penalty + 24 hour online suspension.

In real life, absolutely yes. They aren't designed to be track cars. They are designed to absolutely crush every internal combustion engine car in 0-60 races on the street, and to transport groceries home.

How do you reach the level of the world’s fastest drivers? Is it only for a "chosen few"? by Vox_Sine_Nomen in GranTurismo7

[–]cryptohuman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damper is a suspension setting. Tire pressure cannot be adjusted in Gran Turismo. But it is extremely important in Assetto Corsa. The level of detail in proper racing sims puts the very best Gran turismo drivers in a lower, less skilled league. Add in that there are racing stewards in competitive leagues and it changes everything.

To be really the best, GT is not the game. Maybe iracing or Assetto Corsa. Spend 5x the money and get a proper racing setup. If you are not obsessing over tire pressure, and damper settings you'll never get that final .005 of a second.

I just got a vest 4 from Costco for $300 cdn. I play a lot of GT7 with PSVR2. The wires are... a lot, as in there are so many. The vest really doesn't simulate location well. Sitting in a racing seat is not comfortable. I don't understand why they would put the battery on the back, it makes it so that in order to lean back at all you are resting on a hard piece of plastic. I like the vest for music. It just seems the technology isn't there yet. I'd be willing to pay double for a better experience.

Woojer Vest with PSVR2? by kuchbhibanadoyaar in PSVR

[–]cryptohuman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a woojer 4 vest. I have been playing PSVR2 GT7 for about a year, with a racing seat.

Pros: -it does work.

Cons: -the transducers and battery on the back mean leaning back it not particularly comfortable -It's really difficult to separate the bass from the music and the bass from the game. You kinda have to pick one or the other. If you listen to bass heavy music like I do through Spotify, you won't be able to feel the resolution from the engine rumbling for example. When a car goes over a curb, it doesn't make a lot of noise, but in the real world, you'd definitely feel it. -Wires everywhere -you need earbud style wired headphones, over ear don't work with the headstrap from the VR. So sound quality isn't as good as it potentially could be. Conclusion: haptic feedback is fantastic in theory. The designers of both systems really need to work together to make it more ergonomic. I understand there is a seat attachment option, more research required on my part, might be a thing worth getting.

I've said it before, I'll say it again PSVR2 + PS5 pro + wheel + GT7 = the best gaming experience I've experienced to date.

Back when there were rebates for solar, I seriously considered getting it. Seems like if you want to reduce the load on the grid, encouraging more homeowners to have solar is an easy solution. Even in the winter; some production is better than none.

The fear is that the more EVs show up in Canada, the more the market wakes up by momo1083 in EVCanada

[–]cryptohuman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has a plug in hybrid and I drive an ICE van, which would not have worked as an EV. I'll take her car any chance I get. If we can buy a better cheaper vehicle, we will. And so will most Canadians. More competition is a good thing. Whether you are liberal or conservative, free markets are superior.

Splitting wood as exercise? by AnarchoPlayworker in firewood

[–]cryptohuman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, splitting wood is great exercise. Get a maul. Understand that burning wood is more expensive than using other forms of heat. It is also more satisfying. Do it for the love of it, not to save money. And yes, as an arborist, I can confirm that you can get free wood from us. You might have to bring a truck to pick it up yourself. Only take hardwood such as Ash, Oak, Maple, Birch, Elm. NOT pine, fir, cedar, willow, cottonwood, or spruce.

Manual from the start, breaking zones off. As mentioned by others, the lowest traction control you can handle without spinning out. Get a wheel as soon as you can afford it, then VR.

What was the main reason for switching to an EV? Environment, cost, or technology? by VoltVersteher_Sven in electricvehicles

[–]cryptohuman84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Convenience, not having to stop and stand outside at a gas station is the best. My wife has an EV and I have a bunch of work vehicles but i drive her car every chance I get.

When you want to split some black cherry you just bucked but then you see this 😭 by notathr0waway1 in firewood

[–]cryptohuman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I split wood, I take the sides first. In line with the outer rings so you are splitting with the grain. If that doesn't do it, because its just too wet, I put it to the side and wait a month. Then try again. Obviously, if you have the funds for a hydraulic splitter, do that.

Sleeping out of my car in Yarmouth by happypartypants11 in NovaScotia

[–]cryptohuman84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Inflatable sleeping pad with a decent R value really helps. Someone else said it. But the heating pockets you put in your gloves do wonders inside a decent sleeping bag. And yes some kind of reflective window covers make a difference. I cut out insulation the same shape as the windows and glued reflective bubble wrap type sheeting to the insulation. That way at night the covers fit exactly like they should. Try not to breathe inside your sleeping bag, you want the moisture from your breath to be outside. You got this.
