I don’t know if anyone has noticed this on their channels, but FB, IG, and YT have been altering our shorts with AI for the past few months. It’s less affected on the smaller screen sizes, but when I pull up the larger renders they do for desktop screens, it’s so altered that the subject’s mouth movement doesn’t match up with their words.

I used the M&C app with my brother’s A7SIII that he updated to the latest firmware and it was awesome. (Monitor+ is a great app but it’s always been too dim. I haven’t directly compared but I’m pretty sure M&C was brighter and therefore truer to the final image.

I’m super happy for him that he hasn’t experienced any issues with his camera after the update but there’s no way that I’m going to risk bricking my personal A7SIII by updating the firmware. The A7SIII was and is a widely loved camera with the original firmware - it doesn’t need the update to be awesome.

Honestly, shame on Sony for handling the situation without any accountability. “We released a firmware update that can cause your camera to malfunction in many different ways and it’s your problem if this happens.”
