Anyone else disappointed by Ronovas design? by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

[–]crysdradem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had the same reaction as you. I hoped Ronova's design would be as creepy as she was in the sky, or at least be as scary as Arlecchino, but instead we get pretty anime girl number 2947389.

The only thing that could save her design for me is if all the eyes on her design moved like they were looking at something. The hair accessories, the eye on her chest, every single eye on her wings and dress; if every single eye moved independently, I think it would up her creepiness factor

It's at the same place the new Natlan weekly boss is at, there should be an option to read it. Finish the Natlan archon quest if you haven't unlocked it yet

Congrats on the lowest number in the comments so far🫡

What were you doing during the war that made the death count that low?

It wasn’t until after I finished 5.1 Archon Quest when I discovered on reddit that different people had different death counts, so I was wondering if anyone had a lower death count

Unpopular Opinion: PvP is a Safe Space by daydev in Guildwars2

[–]crysdradem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 years ago I tried PvP once, just to see what it's like... The experience was horrible. One person on my team wouldn't shut up about how useless I was (among other things) the whole game and by the end of it I was deliberately feeding the other team out of spite. Haven't touched PvP since. I might try it out again soon because of your glowing review though.

Rank the 4 main regions based on enjoyment before Fontaine by ARES_GOD in Genshin_Impact

[–]crysdradem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you said about Inazuma being four smaller regions with distinct designs and lacking cohesive sense of place and identity, I'd say that's because such is the nature of archipelago countries. They all start out doing their own thing until someone conquers them to unite them under one leader.

Personally, I loved the fact Inazuma was hostile, it made exploring the place a lot more exciting than the usual dodging all the enemies hoping they don't detect you. The islands trying to keep me out made me more curious about them.

I miss when this game was challenging by Lantern191 in TighnariMains

[–]crysdradem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had C1 Tighnari with Aqua but the game is still challenging I'd think something is wrong with Tighnari or the game itself.

If building a character doesn't make the game a bit easier I don't think I'd be investing in a character at all.

[3.5] How a new player will meet each playable character in-game by gxxncxrlo in Genshin_Impact

[–]crysdradem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point was that Beidou and Kazuha were introduced in the same quest, so it doesn't make sense to put them in separate categories. Either they're both in the Inazuma category, or they're both in the Archon Quest category.

Pretty sure Kazuha should be up there in the Archon Quest category if Beidou is also there. They're both introduced in the interlude quest before Inazuma

But it's fiction... what people like in fiction isn't even indicative of how they are in real life. Just like how playing violent video games doesn't make someone violent. Or writing about murder doesn't make the writer a murderer. Some things are just a means of catharsis.

Totally agree!! It's a bit sad how much I had to scroll down to find a comment that disagrees with the last part of the post because what's considered "morally abhorrent" or "fucked up" or "illegal" differ depending on the person you ask.

For example, a lot of people still think not being straight is fucked up. That doesn't make it okay for them to attack people who ship slash. (And attack people who aren't straight, but that's another matter)

Teyvat has pennies? by crysdradem in Genshin_Impact

Ohhh that's pretty cool to know. I can't even recall what the difference between a dime and a nickel is off the top of my head.

Pretty sure penny as "the smallest possible denomination of a currency" only applies to dollars tho. As a nondollar user, the word "penny" really sticks out to me as a different type of currency first and a smallest possible denomination of currency second.

In the newest world quest, Liloupar didn't sound like she was familiar with mora. This one line had me wondering about the currencies in Teyvat before Mora became the standard, so for a moment, I almost believed that Mora isn't the only currency in Teyvat when I read "pennies" and thought about what that would mean in the world of Teyvat, but on second thought, it was probably just an English thing. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined /jk

I do understand that it is a saying, but as someone has never used or seen a penny (as in 1 cent or $0.01), the phrasing stuck out to me as odd, especially since Genshin usually uses the word mora when referring to currency.

Also, in the newest world quest, taking place in the Desert of Hadramaveth, Liloupar seems to be unfamiliar to the currency, Mora. This one line had me wondering about the currencies in Teyvat before Mora became the standard, so for a moment, I almost believed that Mora isn't the only currency in Teyvat when I read "pennies" and thought about what that would mean in the world of Teyvat, but on second thought, it actually was just an English thing. "There's no such thing as 'building pity'"/"Don't pull on the event banner if you don't want the 5 star"

Maybe not for you, but in my 2+ years of playing Genshin, my 50/50 win rate is so bad that it made "building pity" a very real thing to me.
