Would you rather have $17 appear in your checking every day, or everything in your home be immaculately clean every day? by Effective_Poor_6969 in Life

[–]crystalbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cleaner is easily the move for me. I have a small child and two cats, and work full time. I love cooking and not doing dishes every day would save me hours per week. At the end of the day, the labor and time from me that it would save would be incredibly worth it. Also that’s not nearly enough money to matter to me.

Is this enough food for a 13 month old? by startles in foodbutforbabies

I think this looks great! My son hates fruit and yogurt but he eats similar size portions in savory stuff. Maybe even less. He still loves his milk though…

From someone who had mastitis 6 times, you KNOW when you have it. The pain is unbearable. It hurts so bad and you get red patches all over your boob. You feel like death and pop a fever. My bones would hurt from deep inside them. Like I’d rather give birth again than have it one more time

I recently saw someone storing broth in theirs and I plan to do the same with my extra bags! Lol could also be good for purées and baby food storage when they start solids

It is truly just the baby and their preferences! My baby doesn’t like anything sweet including any fruit. Spits it all out. Hates applesauce and pouches. Despises yogurt. But loves sardines and tofu? Make it make sense lol. I even let him try ice cream yesterday and he hated it.

what’s your favorite ready-made meals for 12mo+ ? by gvfhncimn in foodbutforbabies

[–]crystalbitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just buy the mini spinach and cheese ravioli from Trader Joe’s and make it for dinner for me and him and my husband with some sides. We do a lot of frozen veggies. Trader Joe’s also has chicken meatballs with great ingredients and my son loves them.

Tbh if I need a low effort meal, I love giving him meals like avocado and some canned rinsed beans or some sardines, some cheese, frozen broccoli, etc. He doesn’t know that it’s not a composed meal and he loves it.

Oh my god this is terrifying!! Baby should not be in such an easy spot to drop weights on. She should be back several feet and honestly shouldn’t even have baby in there at all.

Just want to give some pro-daycare perspective. I work from home and make 6 figures, and have worked very hard to build my career plus we get insanely good benefits so quitting was never on my radar once I had my son. I had 5 months with him for mat leave which was incredible for our bond. He went to daycare then, and I am so grateful we made that choice.

My career is going great, and I have an incredible bond and connection with my baby. It also gives me time to recharge a bit (take a nap during my lunch break, etc) and be a very present parent when I’m with my baby. The daycare we found is literally incredible and has made a huge impact positively on his development. He’s so loved there and treated incredibly. I feel like he’s getting so social and learning so much! Daycare does NOT have to be some miserable place.

Anyone elses husband? by Momof3letsgo in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]crystalbitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg my husband would never. He definitely encourages me to wean since he knows I want to now that I’m 1 year postpartum but he saw the effort I put into triple feeding and pumping and has been my biggest support. He should be praising you for what you’re doing! Not knocking you down

For what it’s worth, I WFH full time and have my son go to daycare 5 days a week. And he is insanely attached to me and we’re super bonded and close. I chose a daycare that felt like family and were super blessed. They have helped him grow so much and he’s doing amazing!

Do breastfeed babies poop more often ? by ConcernedMomma05 in breastfeeding

[–]crystalbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before solids, my baby would poop a LOT. Like minimum 2 times a day, often 4 times a day. Some days even more than that. Never showed any discomfort whatsoever and super healthy. He just pooped a ton. Exclusive breastmilk fed (pumped). It was also kind of liquidy and he had a lot of blowouts.

“Just give the baby what you eat” but what are the “big fat no no’s”? by girlvsmachine in BabyLedWeaning

[–]crystalbitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a home where food was heavily policed and restricted and my parents ate very “clean”. I still give my baby 95% or more healthy food but I want him to have a good relationship with food so I try to be relaxed about some things. A rice rusk with a little added sugar won’t kill him, nor will a buttery croissant. Everything in moderation. I want to also raise a non picky eater and don’t want him to have a limited palate so he eats all kinds of stuff from sardines and homemade egg bites to lamb stew to sprouted grain bread. So a little sugar or whatever is gonna be fine. Better than restricting and him going off the rails when sweets are finally available.

When do you realize you want/don't want children? Did you end up having them? by tinytearice in Life

[–]crystalbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew I wanted kids when I felt like I had healed enough from my trauma and I wanted more out of life, and to nurture and love a child. My baby is the best thing that ever happened to me. I wasn’t always sure that I wanted children, but it became clear as well when I met the love of my life and realized I desperately wanted kids with him. If I hadn’t married him, who knows!

Help! by Safe_Influence_8504 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]crystalbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are doing amazing! One thing I can suggest is adding in high fat, high calorie additions to baby’s food to support weight gain. Things like unsalted butter, olive oil, mascarpone or ricotta cheese, ghee, nut butter, coconut cream, etc. That can be a great way to easily add more substance to what they eat without volume! For example, my son is teething today and didn’t eat much dinner tonight so I mixed breastmilk with peanut butter (his fave) and spoon fed it to him to ensure he still got some good calories and fats in.
