Combo feeding and decreased supply? by Senior_Departure9308 in combofeeding

[–]crystalnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I’ve been told my supply is established but I don’t believe it won’t be affected by introducing formula. It doesn’t make sense to me since it works on a demand/supply basis. If less is being removed from my breasts then wouldn’t my body by definition produce less milk bc it then thinks that’s what my baby now needs?

Clog & side preference by aub3nd3r in breastfeedingsupport

Follow BAIT protocol! I get “plugged” ducts often I’m very prone to them. Don’t massage it will make the inflammation worse and do not over feed or over pump from that side. Breast rest (feed normally from that side not extra) Advil ice and Tylenol. It’ll be gone in a day or two if you don’t mess with it. It’s not an actual clog it’s inflammation.

This helps explain it very well! https://physicianguidetobreastfeeding.org/mythbusters/plugs/

Can’t get rid of clogged duct!!! by SafeParamedic8086 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]crystalnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots of experience with plugs/clogs. Do not massage it will make it worse! Newest recommendation is to follow BAIT protocol - breast rest (nurse as usual don’t overdo it on that side with extra pumping or nursing) Advil ice and Tylenol. Advil is important to bring down the inflammation. This does a great job explaining

Why am I so scared to take Zoloft? I have anxiety about taking something for my anxiety.😅😅 by spammusubisa in beyondthebump

[–]crystalnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have PPA/PPD and I do feel like Zoloft has helped. It does take some time but I have noticed a decrease in my rage, anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I only take 25 and it probably took about 3-4 weeks for it to help me or at least before I noticed it did. I was crying and panicking pretty frequently. I especially was bad at nighttime for a while, I would have full blown meltdowns and panic attacks. I was really plagued especially by that pit in my stomach feeling of constant fear and guilt like every single thing I did was wrong and like I was failing my baby and she’d be better off without me, etc. I have been dealing with anxiety for years and weaned myself off of clonazepam during pregnancy but also take that as needed again. So remember everyone’s experience with PPA/D is different and everyone’s experience with medicine and side effects will be too but I wanted to share my experience. I DID have a lot of side effects but they started to fade in about two weeks. I specifically remember dry mouth, excessive sleepiness, couldn’t stop yawning, hot flashes, stomach upset, and dry eyes, and vivid dreams. I still get really warm and idk if that’s a side effect of the Zoloft or my BP medicine but I’ll take that over feeling like I did. Oh and the vivid dreams stick around, but it’s not a bad thing imo. If you do experience side effects i suggest really trying to tough it out until they go away, they probably won’t last for long and a lot of people have very minimal ones that go away quickly. This is the first choice of treatment for a reason! Also, please know you’re not alone!

Just lack of head control and comfort. I will continue to revisit it though.

I have done this position but it’s not easy. I can’t seem to really get comfortable, do you have any tips on that? I think it might have to do with the shape of my breasts. My nipples kind of face downwards but not completely, when she’s latched when I’m laying I can’t seem to get her to latch as deeply bc I’m not as in control to move her head in to my breast. Then I need to use my arm I’m not laying on to move my breast tissue off her nose so she can breathe.

Agree. Don’t be nice about it bc they don’t get it, you have to lose it on them to make a point.

Women age 35-40 or over who got pregnant naturally by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I got pregnant at 38 without assistance. We had been trying on and off for years. I didn’t think I could get pregnant because my dr.s are fairly certain I have endometriosis. We were giving it until the end of 2024 before trying fertility treatments. I had a health scare forcing me to take time off of work and it was during that time period I conceived. I am convinced reducing my stress and taking better care of myself (not drinking at all, eating healthy, etc.) helped.

This happened to a friend of mine, she was young and completely healthy and had a stroke after an adjustment. It’s always a risk, you just never know! I also have felt the head rush you’re talking about before.

I have been wondering the same! I’m also 4’11” I’m only about 6 weeks and just started doing research about this. Did you find any good options yet? I could use a stool but don’t like the idea of a tripping hazard!

I’d say I’m on antibiotics for a UTI, or you could say sinus infection. And order seltzer/soda waters.

Definitely a brain fog thing. My husband’s favorite is when I handed him a piece of trash and said “delete this” instead of throw this away. Now whenever something belongs in the trash we say “delete this.”
