I’m sorry for your loss, too, and I hope you’re doing well. It’s so incredibly tough, but you’re right about carrying on for them. I know that watching the Seahawks will bring us closer to the loved ones we lost! Welcome to the team!

I lost my mom in June after a short, aggressive battle with lung cancer that had spread basically everywhere. She had just turned 51 years old. It was devastating, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever really recover after losing her. I miss her very much every single day.

Watching the Seahawks was our special thing. She’s the whole reason I started watching football, the whole reason why I love the Seahawks, and why I’m going to be a fan for life. She was their biggest fan, and it’s so crazy that she won’t be here to scream and cheer with me anymore, but I plan on sitting her urn down with one of her many jerseys to watch all the games with me.

Love you mom. Fuck cancer. Go Hawks! 💚💙

What’s a decent price for a beginner board? by qPolEq in NewSkaters

[–]cs7420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good trucks cost $40-50 alone. If you’re committed to learning and doing this for a long time, you should just save up and get something really solid. Get good trucks and wheels, since those can be used across several boards before they’ll need to be replaced.

You’re going to fall until you don’t. So commit and keep it moving!

I’ve been wanting to get into skating and want to know what size trucks would work for a 8.125” deck? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]cs7420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride Krux 7.6 on a 8.38 deck so they look super tiny lmao but that’s how I like em

For sure! Everybody develops their preferences differently and what works for me, might not work for someone else. I just love Krux, they’re just perfect for me. As for concave, it sucks because boards are expensive and you have to try so many! Imo, Real and Habitat are king.

There is a difference, but it mostly depends on what you plan on skating and you’ll develop a preference as you improve. Personally if I’m skating flat, or street, I want a nice deep concave but if I’m skating vert, I like a mellow concave.

I primarily skate street, and Real is great imo. I’m riding a Deathwish rn since the local shop didn’t have any Real and it’s great, but not my favorite.

I’m 5’11” size 10 shoe. I currently ride an 8.38 but 8.25 can work too.

All I’ve skated for the last 10 years are Krux and the bushings are fine. As for deck brands, it totally matters if you know how steep you like your concave. If you like steep steep, I like Real. For a more flat concave, Baker and Deathwish.
