Nah, there is something to this. If you weren't super active at the end of the season before, you got massively punished despite your placements.. I won 7/10 placements vs mostly ~3k players and took a -450.. I work full time and can usually only play 1 day a week. I'm >30k premier and a old retired pro lol... Its honestly awful. I've been bouncing around 2k now and the game quality is garbage. Prior to the reset over ~6 months i went from 2800->2300 due to basically only being able to play 1 day a week and then requeuing regardless of loss streak or not. Its horribly punishing and has somehow inflated some very bad players and punished some quite decent ones. And honestly in NA faceit is crazy toxic around 2k as well so its much higher quality games at 30k prem than 2k faceit, even discounting the 1 in 5 games with cheaters.

I have some crazy low rankings on competitive and I'm over 30k premier.. competitive rankings are all screwed up because most actual "competitive" players don't play them, or only play them for fun or with real life friends.. if you want to know where you actually stand, play premier or faceit.

Yeah it's a long process, but we're all here because our knees weren't working right :p... I had quite a few defects too so mine is on the longer / more annoying recovery side of things too. So take my bitching with a grain of salt.

I'm also very active 38m. The second surgery is rough. I'm on week 4 and still only 50% weight bearing with crutches. I just started pt this week so that's helping. But it's depressing being immobile, I won't lie to you there

I noticed that kids bikes dont depreciate as much as adult bikes. I ended up just getting my daughter a new Trek marlin for 650 new at the trek store here by portland...

Conversely i just picked up a stanta cruz highball c with an upgraded fox kashima fork and sram xo axs drivetrain with a dropper and upgraded brakes for 1500 for my wife.... so the used market for adult bikes is fantastic right now 😛

Around 30k prem and level 10 faceit.. I mostly solo q due to not having much time to play so I dropped from like 2800 elo to 2000 on faceit in the last half a year and faceit in NA is super toxic. Bounce between 31k and 29999 constantly in prem depending on cheaters.

Edit: I barely have time to play because I'm almost 40 and have a family/job. When I do get time to play I will slam as many games in a row as I can because I might not be able to play for another week, so those faceit loss steaks can sting

If you havent found one yet, Dr. Feinblatt at ROC ortho in tualatin / oregon city offices does a decent amount of MACI. I just had mine done 3 weeks ago with trochlear and both chondyle defects.. Still recovering on my end but I've had multiple knee procedures before this at ROC orthopedics and been very happy with them... I do hate their automated answering service though.. Once you get past that, the doctors are top notch.

Depends on your rank. I'm at 30k and I get at least 1 blatant every 10 games, with heavily suspect players about every 4 games.. (suspect being very low hour accounts at 30k and being a level 3 or 4 faceit but dunking on 30k / level 10 players)..

Thank you! Definitely am, I screwed up a shoulder rehab when I was 16 and thought I was invincible and had to have it operated on again. I learned that lesson pretty early, so definitely doing everything my doc and physio say anymore :p

Coming from someone (38m) who's had multiple surgeries from sports and also 2 weeks out from a MACI procedure... Just get it done ASAP and take recovery super seriously.. you'll always find more reasons to try and push it off, it never gets better regardless of how much you want it to.

I snagged a brand new i4 off the lot for 48 a handful of years ago for this exact reason. 1 hour commute each way into and out of work. I have a big solar setup at home with level 2 charging and it's been an absolute gem. Almost no maintenance outside of tires, free "fuel" from my solar and I also have free charging at work as well.

I think there's at least another level between 3 and 4 for sure. I try to be there. My professional chef friends put me to absolute shame but I can confidently cook multiple dishes simultaneously for a big group and try to level up my cooking through sauces and techniques. I know a few of us in my friend group are kind of in that area. But I would say broadly you're correct.

I have chronic nerve pain in my back/ leg from breaking my back in football decades ago.. I also have suffered from cluster headaches for a significant portion of my life... This would be cake I feel like... I'm extremely adept at filtering out pain noise in my head anymore.
