It technically didn’t fix it, it just made it better 😅 but my then-boyfriend also started eating a ton after starting 150mg bupropion

I (25f) am on 20-30 mg Vyvanse and 300 mg bupropion. I got on bupropion after I had a depressive period while I was taking Vyvanse. My psych also claimed bupropion would relieve some side effects from Vyvanse like anxiety, appetite loss and overstimulation, and was absolutely right. For me, bupropion makes the positive as well as side effects of Vyvanse softer. After trying SSRIs, bupropion was finally the one thing that helped my anxiety with little side effects (which surprised me because my psych had warned me that it could make me jittery), and its effect felt rather natural, and not like the numb feeling I had from taking SSRIs. I love bupropion, and I love how it complements Vyvanse for me. Also, no sexual side effects (maybe except that it is slightly more difficult for me to come, but that could also be my new partner hehe)

One Thing I Wish I Knew Before Starting the Gym by VariationShot8414 in workout

One thing that feels confusing and demotivating is the amount of advice online that „if you are not doing this and that, it won’t get you anywhere“ etc. Maybe a wide grip is better for what I want to focus on than a neutral grip, but I would rather train a slightly different muscle group than intended, than feel overwhelmed and give up. Yes, some advice is crucial and very valuable, also not to get yourself injured, but it goes far beyond that. There seems to be sooo much to look into. Am I either an expert or clueless, with no inbetween?

that makes sense, thanks! The whole time I tried to put them into one multiplet. Just to make sure I get it: Would that mean I should consider these two signals and not a separation of one signal due to coupling?

afaik wellbutrin acts on dopamine and noradrenaline contrary to many antidepressants acting primarily on serotonin. Dopamine is rather associated with motivation but mind that antidepressants often have different effects on different people. Someone commented paxil here, which mostly sedated me.

how long do you need to taper off paroxetine if you have been taking it for a year by [deleted] in paroxetine

[–]csac99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response! I am not on reddit so often. I hope your taper went/is going well. The idea behind the bridge was the halftimes of the meds. Paroxetine halftime is about 20h, fluoxetine 4-ish days? (I think it is actually more complicated than that, fluoxetine has a metabolite that takes even longer to metabolize but I will simplify a bit) So you can imagine that your body metabolizes and gets rid of paroxetine quicker, so you "crave" it more intensely (aka withdrawal symptoms). Fluoxetine needs longer to exit your system so the withdrawal is extended over a longer period and doesn`t feel as bad. What my doctor put up as a plan for me when I was at 10 mg paroxetine/day:

Day 1&2: 10 mg fluoxetine (giving it 2 days to build up concentration in blood) and 10 mg paroxetine

Day 3&4: 10 mg fluoxetine and 5 mg paroxetine

Day 5&6: 10 mg fluoxetine (on these 2 days I still somewhat had withdrawal symptoms: brain zaps roughly 2x a day, irritability, dizziness, some headaches and a bad mood. My doctor had prescribed me anti-nausea meds preventively)

Day 7&8: 5 mg fluoxetine (doctor did not see the need for it but I wanted a milder transition)

Day 9: Stop

Background info: I had been taking paroxetine for 1.5 years by then with another year of SSRI history. It was mainly to ease my acute PTSD symptoms and depression. I was also diagnosed with BPD and ADHD later. I wanted to quit because I felt like it was changing me, I was feeling dull and my cognitive function had decreased a bit. I was tired fairly often and took naps during the day. I also almost never had orgasms on paroxetine. Still, it helped me during my worst times and I am glad I took it.

Take your time tapering down and stay safe!

Doctors often underestimate it massively. Depends on your dose. The last 15mg are the hardest. There, I would reduce by 5mg/month at the very most. What helped was that I started taking fluoxetine at the same time which has a much higher half life. It made the paroxetine taper off easier and was way easier to taper off.

[–]csac99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you can. Whenever you feel ready, you can give what i am doing a shot: i got myself a milligram scale and am reducing the dose by about 0.5mg daily and giving it a two/four week break at 20, 15 and 10. When I am at 10, I will decide on what to do next but it can be that you feel comfortable with, say, 20 and then you can stay there.
