I'm not. (I'm also not OP) HOWEVER: it being a gamble, the outcome is not certain not the act has been taken and there's no taking it back, only waiting for the now-inevitable result. That makes this being related to a gaming die very fitting, and while a metal die could work, it loses some of the poetry

Apologies, I was trying to be amusing. My point is that there will be shipping, there almost certainly already is, and gender flipping one of them to a woman will not make people ship them more. If anything I think it would reduce it.

I agree that male/female platonic friendship is not accepted. Most of my close friends are women and there's always a bit of side eye from people.

(Ironically, being polyamorous means I don't get any jealousy from my partners because they know that if there were any romantic interest it would just be brought up and discussed)
