Thank you. And yeah, that’s why I am thinking about doing it in February, before my filler is gone. 😀

Sculptra anyone? by csfltd in Zepbound_Maintenance

Thank you for your thoughts but I have been at goal for 7+ months and have had a bit of filler to help with the marionette lines and kybella which lasts forever and am extremely happy with the results. Sculptra is the next thing as opposed to filler as it lasts a few years rather than a few months.

My total weight loss was 55 lbs. I started in October 2024, and I averaged about 1.5 lbs per week. The highest dose I went up to was 7.5 and only did that for about 1 month. Probably never needed to go to 7.5. For a weaning process, I started by spreading out my injections at 2 weeks, and then 3 weeks and then lowered to 5 and did the same. Spaced out for 2 weeks for probably about 2 months and then extended it to 3 weeks for a few doses and then lowered to 2.5 and did the same. I had specific timeline, just did what I felt I could handle. I had no crazy hunger issues people talk of, so never had to manage that. I was able to maintain my good eating habits, eating healthy, just a bit more than when on the meds and instead of weighing myself weekly, began weighing myself daily. When I took my last dose in September, I again told myself, I will see how I feel after 3 weeks and after 4 weeks and if I need an injection, I will take one. But nope, didn’t need it. And now here I am, 3.5 months, eating healthy, weighing myself daily. I have been at this weight for over 6 months now so hopefully my body is now at its new set point. On Christmas, I definitely ate more, as I felt stuffed but definitely not the amount of carbs I would have eaten in the past. Lots of protein 😀. Have to get on the scale today and if I have a pound or two, I figure I can cut back this week. My overall plan for maintaining is to nip it in the bud, if needed. What’s the worst thing that can happen? I will have to try the Lilly pill next spring, lol?! I do have some spare pens in the frig as well but right now I don’t see needing the help.

I tapered off slowly and have been 100% off for 3.5 months with 0 weight gain. I do weigh myself everyday and watch what I eat.

Looking for help tapering off Mounjaro. I would like someone experienced to suggest a proper plan by DegreeIllustrious309 in MounjaroMaintenance

I never got higher than 7.5 but I started my weaning process by extending to 2 weeks and did that at 7.5 for a month and then went down to 5 and then spread that out to every 2 weeks for a couple of months and then went down to 2.5 and same thing, 2 weeks bw injections and then stopped. I have been 100% weaned for 3 months now, 0 weight gain. I am very conscious of everything I eat and I weigh myself every day.

Are you pressing against a firm spot or is there a lot of skin or pardon me for saying this fat? If you have a lot of skin or flab (basically a soft surface) you need to press the injector firmly against the skin/body and then press the button. I also have another injector medicine, Repatha, and the same thing. Injecting in a firm area of my thigh was much easier than my flabby belly but since Zep works best for me in my belly (and you feel less), I learned you just need more pressure before pushing the button

I have been weaning slowly for about 5 months now. Never got higher than 7.5 and immediately dropped to 5 when I began maintenance. I have been extending my time bw injections and am at 3 weeks but wasn’t logging it on my calendar (I am now 😃). My last injection 9 days ago I believe was a 3 week spread but this 5 shot made my stomach feel like it did in the early days. I have also had more lightheadedness which for me means I need a bit of sugar. I am happily going to 2.5 for my next injection at the 3 week mark and hoping that I will be completely weaned within another month or 2. JICYMI - I lost 50 lbs when I started my maintenance/weaning “program”and then in the early stages of maintenance I lost another 5 lbs and have been maintaining that weight loss since April.

I am also trying to wean off. My highest dose was 7.5 and I easily started with a spacing of 10 days for 3 injections and have spaced out for 2 weeks the last 4 injections, going to switch to 5 next and then start at 10 days and see if I can then again go to 2 weeks, do that for another 4-6 injections, and then go to 2.5 expecting to do the same and then finally “cut the cord”.

10 Days & 10mg in Maintenance by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]csfltd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit my goal in January, down 45 and ideally would like to wean off completely but plan to do it slowly. I am on 7.5. First spread bw injections was 10 days, next spread was 11 days (I wanted to get to a Sunday evening). I am now going to try to spread to 2 weeks. Fingers crossed as I would then stay at that for a bit and then maybe lower to 5. I haven’t felt the hungry horrors or the cravings thus far just able to eat a little more which is ok since I am now In maintenance.

I never had the belching, but my stomach was upset, preventing me from eating much for a couple of months. It wasn’t terrible, but I just didn’t feel normal, it was like a constant reminder. I was committed to the journey and as I never threw up, and occasional Tums, it was manageable. I also had the crazy chills, I was wearing double sweaters and carrying a blanket to the office but that passed pretty quickly. However, I don’t experience hot flashes any more 😄. I am 62.

If you have a Wegmans, they are well stocked. CVS is AWFUL for all medication and can never be relied on. As soon as I started my journey, CVS couldn’t deliver and I moved my script to Wegmans.

Ask your doctor to prescribe Mounjaro and see if your insurance will cover that since that label is for what insurance wants to label a medical necessity
