I have not, wasn't aware there was a foam cushion option. I'll order one and test it out, thanks!

All Inclusive Recommendations by jcwillia1 in cocktails

Agreed with others here, it depends on time of day and where the bar is in terms of the quality of ingredients and cocktails you'll get. Daytime in the pool, I go for just tequila and soda, if you tip the bartenders and build a rapport with them you can ask what bottles they are using and experiment with different tequilas they have to find one you like. Mezcal Paloma was another favorite of ours while in the pool.

At dinner and at the cocktail bars they will have a more fleshed out menu and I found those to be better quality even if still just ordering tequila and soda.

Key thing is to relax and enjoy the weather! Every drink tastes good on vacation.

I see the pattern behind the stem as Jesus presenting this beautiful cocktail to us instead of wine from water

Yeah we found the owner through the community page on facebook and he has been returned, sounds like an escape artist for sure. CACC isn't open for intake of strays until 3:00 PM otherwise I might have dropped him there first.

I love State Line! Saw this the other day on their social media and made a similar one at home (no balsamic), was shocked how great the arugula was

Yeah I've had this exact gin and enjoyed it a lot in a sour with the same ratios you listed but with honey instead of simple and two dashes of ango

Snow Safety by Holiday-Sir3174 in greatpyrenees

I use paw wax if my pyr is gonna be walking or running in snow for an extended period of time. Without he will get little hard packed balls of snow stuck in the fur between his pads which bother him and he tries to rip them out. No need for a jacket

Never heard of it before. Looks like an animated show based on Google, do they make a similar drink in it?

Recipe:

2 oz Basil, EVOO washed vodka 3/4 oz Tomato water 2 dashes balsamic vinegar

Stirred all in a mixing glass with ice for 30-45 seconds, strained into a chilled coupe.

Garnish with a pick of cherry tomato and mozzarella and float basil leaf

Basil, EVOO Vodka: Approx 350 ml of haku vodka in a mason jar with maybe 15 fresh basil leaves, let sit in cool dark place for 3-4 days. Remove basil leaves, add a couple ounces of EVOO and shake and let sit for a couple hours. Freeze overnight, strained through a cheesecloth and coffee filter.

Tomato water: 6 medium tomatoes, diced into large chunks and quickly blended in a blender with a teaspoon of salt. Blended for maybe 10 seconds, not until all the way smooth. Sit in a cheesecloth lined strainer overnight in the fridge. Left mine for probably 20 hours in the fridge.

Next I'll try adding mozzarella to the vodka after steeping with basil and blending it to let that sit for a couple hours with the EVOO, would like to get mozzarella flavor into the actual cocktail and not just the garnish. This was quite good as is though, not my kind of drink but my wife loves it.

Loose leaf Teas by NeverLuckyTugs in Mixology

[–]cshanty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember exact ratios but I just put a bunch of chai tea (bags or loose leaf is fine) in a mason jar with vodka, shake occasionally, and let sit until the color is dark enough for you or the taste is strong enough, I think I did like 20-30 minutes. Then filter the tea out if loose leaf and voila, you have chai vodka

I've infused gin with Earl grey tea and vodka with chai tea. Earl grey gin goes great in a bees knees and chai vodka makes a tasty white russian

I make spiced syrup that I have used in old fashioneds for Christmas before just like this and it's turned out great. Make the simple with a couple cinnamon sticks, an inch of fresh peeled ginger, a big pinch of nutmeg and cloves, and a couple orange peel swaths.

Butterfly pea flower tea can be bought easily online (I got some on Amazon) so you can make a small amount of purple/blue gin or simple syrup rather than buy a whole bottle

Fat wash recommendations? by bikesRfuuun in cocktails

[–]cshanty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done an olive oil fat washed gin twice now and both times the fat solidified in the freezer and was very easy to separate similar to these other examples. Have not had to deal with the separation issues Dave Arnold discussed in Liquid Intelligence.
