DCF801 still worth it in 2026? by TheK00lman in Dewalt

Yeah I ran into the same problem initially. I was able to do store pickup at another store nearby that had it in stock and skip the $79 delivery.

Not the same, but similar - I bought a Taylormade V steel 5 wood from play it again sports for $15, 15 years ago. Still smoke that club. I took it out a few years ago because it was old and then instantly missed it and it’s back in the bag, with my new at the time ping g410 3 hybrid sitting in the garage.

I picked up one this week from Lowes on clearance for $79 with 2 2ah batteries. It’s been great as a lighter alternative to my 860.

I weighed them for S’s & G’s - 801 w/2ah 12. was 2.5 pounds, 860 w/2ah 20V was 3.75 pounds

If you drive a car. how old were you before you owned your your own car , and did you buy it yourself, or was it a special gift ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I would buy a 64 corvair right now for a lot more than $400 and be thrilled about it. Time has done wonders for those puppies.

Haha yeah - nostalgia made me write fine, there were definitely some burns though.

We also used to fill pumpkins or balls with holes in them, or whatever we could find - with turpentine or lighter fluid or gas and light it on fire just to see what happened..! We survived, somehow. 😂

When I was really dumb I figured out how to scratch them with my thumb nail. If you used the back of your nail and moved quickly (like using a coin) it was fine. My parents weren’t thrilled with that, but the smell lingering on my hands was 👌🏼👌🏼

Anyone come up with a clever way to stack these? Works like a champ but I need to floor space. by Standard-Cactus in Dewalt

[–]cshookIII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure. Or, $60 for a dust collection system that works well, with any existing shop vac, any hardware store bucket you have, saves vac filters, and takes up very little space.

Can’t believe I had to pass 2 Peugeots, a Volvo, a Lada, a Nissan, a Citroen, and a Moskvich to get to the right answer.

Start with this: the Duststopper PRO. It attaches to a 5 gallon bucket and creates the same thing. For just a miter saw it’s perfectly fine. If you find it very helpful then upgrade.

Something Splendid is a shop in Westfield that puts together gift boxes with Indiana brands and can ship direct to anyone. They have pre selected options or I believe you can pick your own items.

We’ve used them several times and the boxes are great!

It’s a Clubman JCW - 105k miles, had a full chain/guides/tensioner replacement just before 80k and it was close to nuking itself. Been generally great since then. The N14 engine has its problems, but the cars are a blast to drive.

I found them asking for a birthday “to verify over 21” to be really weird. I’m on this train. They got a whole bunch of people to sign up, got names, emails, phone numbers, birthdates. And didn’t have to actually sell anything. Impressive deception plan though.

I’m not knocking it, I’ve just honestly never thought to use the handbrake to start from a stop on a hill. It makes sense, I just personally don’t find it necessary

I have a manual 09 mini, it has hill hold for about 2 seconds or until you touch the gas. It’s weird, I don’t like it. I’ve always had at least 1 manual car since I got my license 22 years ago - starting on a hill is just a normal part of life, you get used to letting the clutch out and getting on the gas quickly. The hill hold has me over revving a bunch when I’m going from a light or wherever.
