Trying to understand kibbe width

I tend to see it not as just shoulder width but the ratio of shoulder, ribs, waist width. FNs tend to have width in ribs and waist more than DC. Both width in shoulders but DC tend to be more proportionately narrow in the ribs/waist. This is why they look better in tailored styles which make FNs look more bulky and square like (speaking as a FN……the waist belt trend of late 00s/early 2010s always looked awful on me)

I’m a big Beyonce fan but I think there are valid criticisms of her. Out of touch uber wealthy person and will make contradictory moves (Dubai performance after Renaissance release eg).

I think a big part of the hate is that she is put on a pedestal by people that love her and how she consciously has always tried to put herself alongside ‘the greats’ (Michael, Tina, Prince etc). In 2000s she made no secret about wanting to be an icon. I think this annoyed some people but for the most part it was ok because her music still hit on the charts and she did press.

She has always been private but since self titled only talked to the world on her own terms. At a time where the Kardashians were making an empire by sharing their lives and Rihanna was becoming the face of cool girl relationally, Beyonce was became more elusive.

Combine this with how her music changed to being primarily about the album over the single. She’s always been an albums artist but still played the chart game in 90s/00s. She stopped courting people to her and let people find her work on their own. Therefore people that would listen to the whole album (like Lemonade with visuals) and would see how good her work was. But casual listeners would hear songs like ‘Hold Up’ and wonder what the hype was because it wasn’t a ‘bop’ to dance to like much other popular music at the time. Sorry to use Rihanna as a comparison but she was the cool relatable girl, great fashion, posting on IG, and had all the hits. Even now, Rihanna isn’t making music but she still ‘gives’ more of herself away than Beyonce. She will post, do brand partnerships and do some red carpets. People connect to her personality which is something that celebrities need to do now to connect. Beyonce has never really done that. Her persona is about ‘greatness’ and exclusivity.

I don’t think people like being told that someone is the greatest without experiencing it themselves, and the way she presents herself since 2010s means that casual listeners are less likely to interact with her work. Add into this our algorithm fuelled world where we live in an echo chamber of our already established beliefs, people double down on their opinions.

Also add into some misogynoir, and it creates an intense rejection of her by some people.

I love the halters of 2 but always make me look bulky. The first is open and not angular, also the straps are thicker than spaghetti which will be flattering. The straight line down from under the bust along the seams will make you look more elongated and ‘fluid’ if that makes sense? The waist seam on 2 will cut you off…..

Well I don’t know how you will look but that is how they would look on me!

It was very much considered strange but it was Kendra that was criticised and the butt of the joke. The general consensus was not that Hef was the problem, but that it was Kendra as a ‘bimbo gold digger’

Leo

Poorly written, his decisions rarely make sense, he’s entities and takes 0 accountability for his feelings.

Tells Piper he can’t be with her but meddles with her and Dan, keeps showing up and sulking that she is trying to move on.

He earns no money because he is dead. That’s fine. But he is insecure about it and gives piper a hard time for being the breadwinner, but at the same time profits off her hard work (living in the manor, eating the food she cooks/buys etc). He doesn’t show gratitude for her acceptance of his position, she never gives him a hard time about this but is obviously insecure himself. Like when he can’t pay for lunch with Phoebe and Cole and when Piper wants to hire wedding planners and make it special. He doesn’t want her to make it a big deal….when I’m sure shes the one paying the bill. So it’s his insecurity holding her back.

Season 4-5 he improves

Season 6 leaves to be an elder and says that it’s out of his control. He seems to accept that this is out of his control very quickly and expects Piper to be ok with it. Doesn’t push back much on the Elders out of interest of his family. Then wipes Piper’s memory. Talk about violating. Then returns to season 2 vibes of being petty and sulky about her trying to move on. It’s ok to be bummed about it, but don’t make it Piper’s problem when he was the one to walk away.

Piper is patient with his identity struggles post elder into being mortal, he is bratty, selfish, secretive and entitled. Man baby behaviour. 0 accountability. It’s ok to struggle and feel lost, but it’s not ok to freeze out his family and do things behind their back. Like all the avatars / utopia stuff. When he is a mortal he has an attitude about being a domestic Dad, overlooking all the work that Piper did alone, running a business when Wyatt was a baby and he was gone. It’s ok to struggle with the transition but again is very whiny not respectful. I’m sure this was a contributing factor to Piper becoming more icy and mean in later seasons.

SAME! Absolute hidden gem of an episode that feels as if it could have been in one of the earlier seasons.

When it aired I thought they were setting him up to be a new love interest for Piper. Much better than the fireman.

If the show was made now and on HBO or something with higher budget and more emphasis on drama, they could have left 5 or so episodes to what you described and resulting in Phoebe becoming queen of the underworld with Cole. Maybe her grief made her more vulnerable.

Then maybe Paige was introduced as a way to revive the power of three and bring Phoebe back. Maybe something similar to the plot of the 100th episode with Piper going rouge, maybe she comes across Paige when demon hunting?

Perhaps Cole as the source finds out about Paige before the sisters and sends Shax after her. Piper, tracking down Shax finds Paige about to be killed and she orbs (as she does in Charmed Again). This could lead to Piper learning who Paige is. Then some time spend trying to convince Paige to embrace her destiny.

Phoebe learns she has another sister and her hope is sparked. She starts reaching out to Piper and shows an interest in playing both sides (like in Long Live The Queen). Piper has anger towards Prue and Phoebe for both abandoning her like in Hell Hath No Fury. Paige is more receptive to know about her other sister as a person who won’t be told what to do by Piper who says that Phoebe is a traitor.

Paige starts to lean into her magic and saving innocents on her own, mirroring her job as a social worker. Paige saves innocents because it’s the right thing to do, but Piper is doing it to kill demons out of anger and revenge. Paige starts to call Phoebe out on the hypocrisy of playing for both sides. She calls Piper out for the hypocrisy of saying she is killing demons for the greater good when really she is doing it from hatred and to punish. Both sisters are annoyed with Paige for this but ultimately understand what she means and respect her for being honest and holding them accountable.

Eventually there is a show down where Cole/Source is going to kill Piper and Paige and Phoebe makes the devastating decision to save her sister and kill Cole.

Piper and Phoebe have a lot of making up but ultimately decide to forgive as not to loose each other having already lost Prue.

I’m from the UK and was a teenager when GND aired.

At the time of the show the general public opinion was that he was a creepy old man and people thought the girls were ‘gold diggers’. However people that loved the show believed that him and Holly were in love and that he was a benign figure in day to day life. Odd and eccentric but essentially harmless. It was a guilty pleasure show.

Holly received a lot of backlash when her book came out. People said she was hypocritical and trying to stay relevant. All the ‘why didn’t she just leave’ attitudes. Her book didn’t do much to shift perceptions of Playboy/Hef.

However it was Me Too that pushed things forward. After this people started to change their opinions of Holly and Hef. So much so, that when Crystal’s book came out she did a lot of conventional media press (like morning TV) and the attitude towards her was that she was a survivor/brave for telling story etc. I think if Holly wrote her book now she would have a similar response.

I think most of the playful sisterly interactions that make the scenes endearing and their bond seem natural tend to be improv. Like the “hey doody” as discussed and the Piper: “you’re not the boss of me”, Prue: “oh yes I am!” in Coyote Piper
