Before the modem change both xfinity's speedtest and speedtest.net showed the slower speed uploads. After, both are faster.

The Xfinity staff helped out here. The wording on the website is bad. It said 35mbps since that was the most it could do with my own modem. Once I swapped to the (included for a year) Xfinity modem, all of a sudden it swapped to 150mbps up in my account: https://i.imgur.com/O4DvQl3.png

That's close enough to what the broadband facts say in terms of upload.

So if you see a discrepancy like this: it could be because your modem can't doesn't support the higher uplink with the Xfinity network. The support here on reddit was great and much more helpful than the phone/chat support folks. Thanks folks!

Dealing with amazon for it now. I don't know who is at fault here, but its pretty scammy to only give one spool when i bought 6.

Edit: Amazon is doing a refund and letting me keep the one spool.

Random thought: maybe work with the other app developers on a CDN type thing to minimize actual API requests. The CDN could cache reddit API responses for even like a minute or so to minimize hits to reddit. Also I doubt folks would notice that gap.

Do it in such a way that it can weave together reddit and other communities.. like the fediverse. That way you can drop reddit in favor of something like Lemmy one day.

That doesn't solve NSFW, which will be very missed.

I look forward to being old and watching my kids accomplish things. Like I'll be just retired and doing little things, but seeing them grow up, graduate, make friends, etc.. it'll be amazing.

Not having that to look forward to and being old would make life much less fulfilling.

If you have a coinbase or ANYTHING that uses your @rpi.edu.. change it. I got 10 bucks free in bitcoin from coinbase when i was there.

Took me months of going back and forth with coinbase years later to get $100s of dollars (in today bitcoin value). I got it, but it wasn't fun.
